Hey Just revamped my icons and I need some Constructive Critisism.

Also I'm not quite sure what icons you need so here's a quick list of the ones I'm working on.

not a bad effort. personally I'm not a fan of the whole dark colour-contrasting theme, if you get what i mean.

I don't guess you want to go and make icons for every app out there, but it would be nice to have a few generic ones, like text editor, browser, mail, chat...

Yeah, thought about that, I'm making alternatives to the dark icons.

That might be a good idea now that you mention it (Generic Icons) I'll get started on though's After I finish the main ones first.

I like them. I'm also considering making an alternative set with the Tango guidelines, if you don't mind.

They look very nice, but I'm not sure the sort-of-neon green goes with the general colour scheme of the distro?

Heh, well I had been making some myself..just getting home from school and seeing his though, well, I like 'em! Anyways, if you would like to check out mine, look at the link:

Obviously early idea, and those are the only icons done. It's tango-ish.

BTW, the hard drive is nowhere near finished. Much mroe detail will go into it. Plus, I have to get the angle right on it, it's way off. But I liked the idea, and wanted to get it out.

I can't edit (someone check permissionhs on this forum, please!), but the icons are better now. I made the trash thinner, and the hard drive has something close to the right perspective.

Just a suggestion. Don't put the Shift logo on most of the icons. It would become very monotonous.

hey guys, I just about bothered myself enough to try and finish the icons I've started a while back

here's all the icons I've managed to finish (Not entirely satisfied with the bin or the logon key)

Personally, I like them. I think we should incorporate a set like this in the distro. It would make us so much more personalized!

Max, can you create this in a tar.gz format so that we can install it?

I believe png would be ok.... but I will double check.....

My icons for Debian are png.

They're not bad but they have an overall gnome feel to them. Are we going to have seperate icons for KDE? If not we should have a set that seems to be more universal.

It would be nice to brand KDE with a different set of icons. Anyone want to give it a whirl?
