If you let it go long enough, NTFS "learns" and starts keeping the drive in better shape.

that info is news to me...wasn't aware of that.

Files being spread out is not fragmented, only when the individual files are broken apart.
yea..i'm aware of that, though the defraggers I've used, after analyzing the drive and looking at the log, it shows that files are fragged into x many pieces.

anyways..originally all i was trying to say was that NTFS does have a use for defraggers.

Yeah, I've never waited long enough for it to happen :D but in theory, you could defrag and entire drive (not system drive) by moving everything off of it and moving it back (must try that one day...).

theres almost no use in defragging a xbox hdd cuz u never put anything on it.. even if u do like games and stuff its still not gonna slow down any..

also if i belive the new evox might have a defragger.. not sure.. really really not sure.. kinda got outta the xbox scene stuff and have been washing my car all day! lol
