Software to remotely control friend's PC?

Question

OK, this is getting crazy, I'm getting like 2 calls everyday from family members or friends needing computer help. I'm getting pretty sick trying to help over aim or the phone, because they have no idea what they are doing and it's impossible to really know what's going on without looking at it.

So, there any way I can remotely and securely control their PC and view it on my screen to fix their adware/spyware/virus/router/Windows problem???

Thanks for any suggestions.

You can use

VNC --> TightVnc or RealVNC (Google for their Site)

OR

Remote Desktop (Only in Windows XP Pro)

OR

LogMeIn_ DOT_COM

I would also vote for logmein.com. Very easy to use no set up as such (it's all done in a down load) and then you add the computer to your account.

You do have to add the computer from their computer though.

You set up your account, then log into it on the computer you wish to control, and add that computer to your account. Then you can access it from anywhere.

+1 for Remote Desktop. I use it all the time from work, lets me acess my home internet/network (wth all the bookmarks, extensions, optimizations), plus the internet at work is restricted and heavily logged, so RDC is a great workaround (otherwise posting this would be impossible from work, as neowin is blocked).

:)
