The gaming experience with Windows Vista will be either equal or worse compared to Windows XP. With true DX10.0 title, it will be different...you can't even compare then. I think with Vista we go one step back as far as FPS in DX 9.0 titles...

No way to tell until we get some good drivers. I think in the end it will be very close.

I dont know too much about this but

I dont think vista will play games better than XP until newer hardware comes out

something to do with user mode drivers vs kernel mode.

Anyone know more about this?

Although yes, it is possible that the performance could be increased by optimizing cards for kernel mode execution, most of this can be achieved through driver refinement for our current gen of cards. It's more to do with how the commands and usage is translated at the moment; once we get efficiency here, there should be no difference in speed, with increased stability.

TAP is the top dog, always has been. They get weekly builds as stated. Tech Beta maybe one a month if you are lucky. Tech Beta is due to get one more build. For TAP, they could get four more builds. So who is more important ? Looks to be TAP.

Exactly. Anyone can be insulted by what I said, but it doesn't make it any less true. Tech Beta testers are below TAP testers, which is why I didn't think we'd get anymore builds, I knew TAP testers would. Personally, I think it is a waist of time for Tech Beta testers to get anymore builds, they should all go to TAP. But that's just my opinion and obviously Microsoft doesn't agree with me :p

 ;) It's cool. If I get back for SP1 or Vienna I'm going to coast my way through the beta and not give so much care factor as I did with Vista.

Just thought i would drop in and give you guys some insight as to why there are no screenshot(s) or any other comments on this build.

When Microsoft releases a product to the Technology Adoption Program (TAP), it is against policy to release information to the "Public" about the product(s). This means that the public will not get to see screenshots, video or articles on any build that is given to TAP. Under normal conditions the public will not even know about the build(s) or product(s) Microsoft ships to TAP unless someone leaks that information, which again would be against policy. So basically right now we [the public] should not know anything about this build except for those of us that are TAP members.

The only builds that the press are allowed to give any information on are public builds, which include public beta(s), or build released to MSDN, TechNet, or Technical Beta Testers. The only thing stopping the press from releasing screenshots or any other information is Microsoft.

i hope this helps you better understand why there isn't any information about this build....

Who cares. The TAP build still has the same flawed Aero Interface. So it may haveo some new wallpapers and a boot screen. Seriously, so what? It's not like Microsoft is actually hiding anything worth hiding.

:p

It's still NDA, and leakers can still get in serious trouble.

The worst thing that can happen is getting blacklisted by Microsoft. shrug Who cares?! It's not like TAP Testers or Beta Testers get paid or anything.. What's the big deal about playing with a dodgy / buggy operating system anyway? I just don't give a monkeys' anymore.

that's because you obviously can't look behind your own nose, for software companies it's very important to have the latest builds and make sure their software is compatible with it.

But as you are so biased against everything microsoft anyway I don't think you care. So be it, but at least stop making stupid comments like that in every vista thread

Do you mean.. I can't look past my own nose? :ermm:

I'm not biased about Microsoft products I'm ambivalent. I think there is a difference.

    • Well again I do not mind seeing it charge my stuff if it does it well. "yeah charge my phone like that, charge it good"
    • Getting so tired of this push for that new useless slop over the less-useless old slop that at this point I just want M$ to have this nice, big, hearty cup of *FU*.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.168 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. • Thanks Microsoft but no, I find both iterations of Outlook terrible nowadays and switched back to Thunderbird at home.
