I want to make a note: My UND3RxOATH is more than likely a dead account. I felt I needed a change of scenery and have since then, changed to a new gamertag. I wish to keep my UND3RxOATH account on our leaderboard as something to encourage players who are close to catching me to give them that extra boost.

If there is room, I would also like to add my new account "Drown The3 City."

why did you do this? underoath was a great name. at any rate, best of luck. as for the leaderboard, you can ask PabUK to remove underoath and add you instead. so what's your gamerscore now?

Yes, UND3RxOATH is a great name and I love it to death. I just want people to understand that I'm not this insane kid who attacks people verbally and is a complete a**. The point of all of this is to let it be known, I'm tired of my reputation and I need need this so people can come to an understanding. My gamerscore is in the 1,000's and I promise it will be larger than that through time. I'm working on Shadowrun and Gears 2 achievements.

Just know, I'm no longer UND3RxOATH and that account will be gold until November. As of tomorrow, I'm stripping my name of UND3RxOATH on neowin and whatever I sites I may be registered as. It's been a great 2 years and this is my goodbye to that 30k gamerscore account. Haha, I can make this seem dramatic.

Like I said, this is a new and improved " UND3RxOATH.

well well look who decided to show up, if it isn't the jianbing. saw you on XBL the other day as well.

as for mathachew, you're really moving on that gamerscore, you should be at 30K in a couple of weeks at this rate.

EDIT: if choosing between those two games, i also vote for Bioshock, but keep in mind Ao2 is a pretty good action title and not too bad for scoring, either. But Bioshock is just in a league of its own.

I'm thinking this is the order I'm going to get achievements in. MAYBE.

  1. Shadowrun
  2. Burnout Paradise
  3. Call of Duty 4
  4. Gears of War
  5. Gears of War 2
  6. Call of Duty: World At War

I can easily get 1000/1000 in Call of Duty 4. 1250 in Gears 1. Call of Duty:WaW I can get close to it.

Burnout Paradise and Shadowrun will take time but they are really fun games.

Gears 2 will take awhile only because I don't have the motiovation...especailly for Seriously 2.0.

Of course, I have arcade games I can do too. Maybe this summer if I get free time. Starting college courses today and about to get a job. :(

Seriously 2.0 is best achieved by replaying the first checkpoint of the last chapter. It gets very, very repetitive, but you can quickly rack up 70+ kills in a matter of seconds. You also see the Brumak intro each time, have to skip it, and escape the tutorial on how to use the Brumak. If you can aim your missiles just right, you'll have the two groups of grubs down literally in seconds. Sometimes aiming for the farthest group will get some of them, but even then, 30 seconds to make sure they're all dead, if that long. You can get about 1,000 kills every 10 minutes. It's definitely the quickest way to completing that achievement. Putting an hour in will get you around 6,000 and I found it easier to do this while watching something to help the time go by (and with no sound from the game, again, repetitive). You could also just play the entire chapter, but I think timing-wise, you get more replaying the first checkpoint.

Yeah, I know. On my UND3RxOATH account I have about 35k kills. I just don't want to ever do it again...makes me too sleepy ha.

I tried out Army of 2 first since I'm borrowing it from a friend, but I didn't seem to care about it that much. BioShock, on the other hand, had me hooked all night and until the sun rose and beyond. I couldn't put the controller down. I mistakenly started it up at around 11PM and as the opening sequence started, I turned off my lights. I kept playing and playing and then I noticed that light from outside was peeking through my window. I kind of over did my playing, but that game rocks and I still haven't beaten it yet. I'm confident I'll get 1000, but not so much about 1100 since I really doubt I'll be able to beat the game on hard without dying.

I didn't care much for Army of Two, it was pretty weak even on co-op. You'll get the 1000 on Bioshock pretty easily, and have a great time doing it. I started working on the brass balls achievement but it's just incredibly difficult without vita chambers. Just save often and it can be done with the right tactics and a lot of patience. For the achievement you're allowed to die, (and you will, a lot) you just have to turn the vita chambers off in options. I keep meaning to go back and finish that one, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm curious about the Brass Balls one. I'm currently at the place after I find out I've been duped by Frank Fontaine. The area before this, you have to get the parts of the bomb, but I had to kill several Big Daddys in order to do this, so you can't progress without fighting at least some of them?

yeah you have to take out the big daddies for adam, and that's a must for finishing the game. come to think of it, the vita chambers can be even more annoying than going back to a save point, but i don't think the 100GS is worth the frustration of replaying parts of the game many times over. might ruin an otherwise awesome experience.

I really need to play Bioshock again, this is making me miss it. I'm off for the next two days, might be a good time to go for the Brass Balls achievement. Then again, gamefly just sent me Red Faction so I'll probably be playing that. I've decided to break 47K tomorrow, and 50K by July.

Imo, Seriously is harder than seriously 2.0. The 1250 is Gears 1 isnt an easy thing to get. Unless you absolutely press on with multiplayer for weeks on end.

Ive just started playing on it again, its so much more fun than gears 2. But the amount of quiters and stuff is unbelievable. If anyone comes across a player called GreenLightSabre.. laugh at him for me. Apparently hes going to hack all of my team just because he got beat. Sounds like a really cool dude.

you get these dip****s once in a while in most games.

rook, that sounds like a plan. but 50K means you need over 3K in less than a month...i hope you can do it! i'll be glad to be at 40K by then, it took forever to get from 38 to 39.

also, post and let us know how Red Faction is, am also waiting on it.

I've got a bunch of games to play, I expect to be close to 48 within a week. 50K might be a stretch, but I think I can do it. Gotta keep Piracy from catching me, he's getting close.

Red Faction is a lot of fun, just explodey demolishy fun. Not a very deep game, but it doesn't have to be. It's very obvious what it's trying to be, and it succeeds at that. Knocking down huge buildings with sledgehammers, remote charges and rockets, driving trucks through buildings, and huge firefights. I love it.

    • I sort of agree with you on that. I had a telescope - a real hefty thing, although only around 500CHF - that got me so fascinated about the stars and planets. I would stare for hours, amazed that I could see the craters of the moon or the rings of Saturn in "realtime" (quotations because, y'know, speed of light and whatnot). A friend of mine has a telescope like the one mentioned in the review, and the pictures are amazing to look at. But there is something missing for me. I may as well just go to NASA's website and look through their gallery.
    • As opposed to catching bad press because it's the engine's fault? You didn't really think this through did you? lol. The engine has all the tools a dev needs to optimize their game, Epic isn't gonna hold their hand to make sure they use them. Also, Epic isn't forcing anyone to use Lumen, Nanite or super high resolution meshes and textures. Just because Nanite can render meshes with millions of polygons doesn't mean you should use it like that, in fact, Epic recommends you avoid doing that. Most of the stuttering can easily be fixed by cutting down on unique shaders by using master materials and generating a PSO cache and compiling every shader before loading the game and managing what must be loaded and unloaded at runtime, it's up to the developer to set all that up properly.
    • I think it depends on what you're looking for to do, and the time you have to spare. With my Dwarf 3, I easily spend 3-4 hour sessions; half an hour driving to an un-light polluted place, another half hour unpacking and setting up the smart scope + tripod for equatorial tracking, then 15 more minutes mucking around with settings and shooting calibration frames, spending a few hours shooting, merging with past photo sessions, etc. It's crazy how time flies and I often get home later than I expected. It's something I still need to set aside a good part of an evening to do, all in all. For one session, where you often need like four for best results when it comes to deep space objects. Even with a smart scope like Dwarf 3, regular non-astro photography is still way more approachable to people getting into photography. I find this is a time consuming niche no matter how I go about it. With practice, I can probably begin cutting time here but I think where smart scopes find their home is among people who love to shoot the night sky but don't have the spare time to go deep with the "navigator level" attunement to the night sky itself in addition to everything else. Having said this, _if_ you have even more time to spend on this hobby, it will probably be even more rewarding to do it more by hand and learn the skies and the details of how it all works.
    • I misread the title and thought Teams itself would be redesigned. Imagine having this one as a native WinUI app.
    • Dell, HP PCs ran into endless reboot, BitLocker recovery loops but Windows 11 isn't to blame by Sayan Sen Last month Neowin reported on a major issue on Dell systems wherein a bug in its official support tool was leading to endless blue screen of death (BSOD) and restarts. Following our report, Dell officially acknowledged its SupportAssist-related crash issue, confirming that the culprit is not Microsoft's operating system but rather a faulty version of its own remediation software. In a newly published support advisory, Dell stated that version 5.5.16.0 of Dell SupportAssist Remediation and Alienware SupportAssist Remediation can trigger blue screen errors and unexpected system restarts. The company notes that the problematic component operates independently of the main SupportAssist application, meaning users should not remove the primary SupportAssist software when troubleshooting the issue. According to Dell, the crashes are linked specifically to the SupportAssist Remediation service, which is bundled with SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools, and as such it has since released an updated version, 5.5.16.1, which is said to resolve the problem. Affected users are advised to first verify whether version 5.5.16.0 is installed by checking the Installed Apps section in Windows Settings. If so, Dell recommends updating SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools through either SupportAssist's "Update Software" feature or Dell Command Update. Dell also advises users to back up important data before performing the update and to ensure systems remain connected to power throughout the installation process. If you are still having issues though make sure to report to the Dell support forum. As it turns out though Dell is not the only PC maker currently dealing with update-related headaches as HP is also facing a separate but probably equally frustrating issue involving recent Windows Secure Boot updates that were released with recent Windows 11 Patch Tuesdays. Similar to Dell, HP also put up its own support article where it explains the issue. The company says that affected devices could hit a brick wall when booting as they run into a BitLocker recovery loop after the April 2026 updates. The problem appears to affect systems wherein the new UEFI Secure Boot CA 2023 certificates fail to apply properly. As such affected users will find themselves entering their recovery key over and over again despite the system otherwise functioning normally. HP says such PCs should be updated to the latest available BIOS version and configured with the necessary Secure Boot certificates before installing Microsoft's Windows 11 Patch Tuesday updates. Systems that are already experiencing the problem may require BIOS configuration changes to restore normal boot behavior. Admins can find information regarding that in the support article here on HP's official website.
