Haven't posted in here in a while either.

Well thanks to Guitar Hero Metallica, and a little bit of FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, I'm almost at 50,000 gamerscore, and I'll probably hit it soon once I start playing EndWar! :p

Well, finally got the 1350 of 1350 1450 of Fallout 3. Damn, I forgot that there was some new DLC for that game.

That give me some breathing room with Neo. Still more than 1000 points between you and me, what's taking you so long to overtake me? I am out of motivation and games.

Maybe I should pull out an Avatar/King Kong boost jump ...

crikey, not king kong! cheap...it is taking long, i was just thinking of you, expecting you to be at 42K by now. it took me almost a month to go from 38 to 39, 39 to 40's fast thanks to Terminator...get it. it's an easy few hundred points right there, at least it's a new game, not like Kong...

but congrats on the hard work with Fallout, you get a lot of story i suppose to go with those points.

Completed Bioshock to get 1000 and am debating on if I want to take a stab at going for Brass Balls to complete it. I didn't find the Hard mode to be all that difficult once I figured out a few strategies. Playing on my first play through on Hard has definitely shown me what I should expect, and I think given enough time that I could do it. My gut says I won't do it, but the completionist in me says do it. Fantastic game, can't wait for #2.

Now which game to borrow from my neighbor...

I "could" be near 42K if I hadn't exhausted my supply of easy achievements. I am left with plenty of games that have achievements for harder difficulty settings and no motivation for them. I may go for Terminator or Red Faction but I am not decided.

For Fallout, I basically replayed the entire campaign just to get the 8/14/20 neutral/bad karma. With all the extension, that's more than 55 hours of play for that session not counting the previous campaign: that's hours not playing other games when you think about it ...

Still, when you look at the Fallout 3 sub-section of the leaderboard, there is that little French flag on top of everyone else that's kinda worth it.

I'm holding off until the GOTY edition comes out so that I can get all five expansions at once, but I'll probably be renting it and will have to rely on luck to get my hands on a copy when it's available.

i don't get it, you have over 1750 posts?

at any rate, i'm with Mr. Chew, getting games has become a matter of luck. Even the Bestbuy seems to run out of big name releases regularly, plus Gamefly and Blockbuster...well, forget about them, you'll wait weeks!

Thanks so much for posting that, dude, it means a lot

it has been a long time coming, but probably won't be able to pass you, also running out of games and can't afford to buy anything in the next week. i'm telling you, get Terminator Salvation, it's a fun game and a quick 800 points or so.

Well I decided to go for the Brass Balls achievement, so my score probably won't change much this week. I still think I can get pretty close to 50K this month with Fight Night, Fuel and Prototype. I'm making real progress on the Brass Balls, it's easier than I remember.

And the race is on... I've been having to borrow my neighbor's controller because mine had an unfortunately incident and I'm waiting for my new one to come in. Unfortunately, the seller sent it in the slowest possible manner, so it'll be no more than two weeks from today.

two weeks? where'd you get it from, a Rapture Circus of Value?

Reseller on Amazon who used ground shipping (Nevermind that sending it via the USPS would only cost a few bucks and be 10x faster). Still, brand new controller + play and charge kit for $32, I felt it was worth the wait.

    • I think this will appeal to a lot of enthusiasts. If the thermals are similar to those of a single system in a compact case, many people running multiple systems may choose to combine them into one machine, provided the case footprint remains reasonable.
    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
