what's the lesson? that since march 2007 when we first played COD3 together you've gained 8K hihihihi :p

all kidding aside, good work. keep it up.

jimmy, i said the controls ruined the game, and possibly my controller, which now creaks and squeeks and who knows what else. so in a way, the controls were also ruined themselves, because this was not a problem with FNR3.

   Fable 2. I played it for a good 6 1/2 hours straight yesterday!! I haven't done that since my SNES days I think. Game of this gen for me so far. I just killed some guy in assless chaps for coming onto me, then went and had sex with my prostitute wife!!!

FNR3 was stick control too.

Button mashers ftl, stick controls ftw.

Learn or lose people, learn or lose :p

@Jian, Fable 2 is immense

rather lose then...what a great loss, i'm devastated ;) FNR3 was stick only for the haymakers or signature moves if i recall, and had other control schemes. FNR4 was almost entirely stick. plus the career mode was miserable, dragging on and on and with those same emails from the trainer all the time. if you enjoyed it, that's great, it wasn't for me.

I'm pretty sure FNR3 had complete stick controls like FNR4, it just had the options for buttons too.

Much better with sticks only, imo. (Y)

Yup, this man knows his stuff  Call yourself a gamer Neo  lol

FNR3 has complete stick control as well as the old control schemes from Xbox/PS2. FNR4 is only stick controls because of the feedback they received from gamers about how much they loved it. Just shows you are in the minority using the old button mash techniques.

Deformed hands - no, skillz - yes

if you're the majority, call me minoritized and proud ;)

as for the control scheme, i don't remember, it's been two and a half years since i finished FNR3. guess me and the other non-gamers here have off memories. must be all that non-gaming gaming time eroding what passes for our brains.

Finished Fable 2. Now to finish the last level of Halo Wars :)

As for the FN controls, I used the sticks on FN3 and FN4. They just felt way more precise on FN3 for some reason though. FN4 they felt really sloppy and I never felt I was totally in control of my punches. I know they have the "classic" control scheme in FN4 that's supposed to be like FN3, but they still feel sloppy. I think it might be because of the new engine they are using.

Found a MAJOR flaw in the design on Fable 2 and that's the only one save point. I was pretty annoyed by it while playing through the game as I normally like to have several on the go so if I don't like something I've done, I can load an older save and fix it. That in itself isn't THAT bad, but I found after I beat the game that there is free DLC. I would have liked to grab the DLC and then load an older save and play the new areas, but because of the single save system and the fact that my last save is right at the end of the game, I would have to start an entire new game to play the DLC and that's BS!!

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the DLC can be played anytime, even after finishing the main quest, you know the game doesn't really ever end.. right?

Ha!! Thanks for the tip. I got to the credits and thought it was over so just exited to the dashboard. I retract my previous statement then ;)

That was a deliberate decision Lionhead made to prevent people saving their game, making a decision in the story, not liking the outcome and loading the old save and choosing the other path. Molyneux really wanted the player to care about their character and the choices they made. I agree with them 100% on it too.

However, you can have more than one Hero save, but it means restarting the game from scratch obviously. I started the game but created a new hero so I could unlock my Master Chief armour.

Yeah, I realize that. I just don't like it :p .

They were REALLY thorough with it too. You can't even back up your save to another memory device. I tried to copy my save to a spare memory card I have, to get around the whole thing, and it wouldn't let me

Lol, as it is someone just lent me Fable II. Very good apart from the fact I keep pulling my sword out by mistake and scaring everyone...I guess I have no choice but to be evil :p

HAHA!! I keep doing that with the magic button. It's the same button to back out of the gestures menu, and I have a habit of spamming it, so I'm constantly using it by accident.

I'm playing as good, but everyone is afraid of me. I got a 2nd wife in another town, and some guy tried to blackmail me for it, so I HAD to kill him. Now everyone calls me a murderer and runs away

That too, been known to visit a village only to unleash an inferno on an unexpecting shopkeeper. Anyway, main quest is done. Just gonna do the remaining quests then get back to ToV now. Im miles behind on this list :p

    • Windows 11 is a big thumbs down from me. I used for a period of a few days while it was in insider and windows 10 was the main OS, and realised it wasn't for me. I am still waiting for Windows to be tolerable again, a shame as at one point I was very pro Microsoft.
    • Classic outlook, not only does it have a much fuller feature set, it doesn't include Microsoft attempting to sync my emails from my servers to theirs. If classic outlook is ever removed from office, and the version I paid for in 2021 stops working for some reason, I'll use Thunderbird.
    • Kdenlive 26.04.2 by Razvan Serea Kdenlive is an acronym for KDE Non-Linear Video Editor. It works on GNU/Linux, Windows and BSD. Visual effects include options for masking, blue-screen, distortions, rotations, colour tools, blurring, obscuring and others. Configurable keyboard shortcuts and interface layouts. Rendering is done using a separate non-blocking process so it can be stopped, paused and restarted. Kdenlive also provides a script called the Kdenlive Builder Wizard (KBW) that compiles the latest developer version of the software and its main dependencies from source, to allow users to try to test new features and report problems on the bug tracker. Project files are stored in XML format. An archiving feature allows exporting a project among all assets into a single folder or compressed archive. • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
