congrats rob and D, and also good work jianbing, you're adding points very quickly. I still remember 15K...it seems like it was just yesterday...

Haha, well as you know, I didn't have a 360 for almost a year, so I had a lot of catching up to do ;).

Just finished Batman. Holy hell, it was awesome!! I didn't really pay much attention to the previews before it was out, so it kind of came out of left field and surprised with me how good it was. Now I just need to finish the competition rooms for a few extra achievements.

well done, but it only took you four days to clock it, you must have liked that game a lot...

It would have been 3 if I didn't go out and get so drunk that I had to sleep at a friends the other night :p . But yeah, I loved it. As I said in the Batman thread, it reminds me a lot of Bioshock, and that's one of my all time faves. GOTY 09 for me so far.

no, the forced third person perspective and high res static world with lots of detail added to textures isn't anything like Dead Space, and the crime scene investigation is completely unlike anything in the annals of time ever even hinted at in the Condemned games. It does have a lot of Riddick in it, that is true.

I don't see Dead Space either TBH. Didn't play Condemned, so I can't comment on that one.

made my goal of 45K before labor day! next goal is 50K before my third anniversary with the 360, which'll be mid november. However, that's not gonna happen if i give in and get this new job, which again will take me overseas and keep me overly busy. and relatively beer-less.

holy **** you guys have mean point scores...

i barely have 8k on mine. then again i mostly play my ps3. i tried coming back to my 360 after a lil over a year without playing.

guess what happened, red ringed! 3rd time too. im done with 360. im selling off my games and sticking with sony. had it since rls and hasnt given me a single hickup. *knock on wood*

congrats slane, it's good to hear from you again and i hope you get back into gaming in earnest again. you were a role model around here after all!

Just rode up to my local Blockbuster to return Batman and was charged a .75 late fee for being 3 hours late, and to top it off they only have 5 stands dedicated to the x360, two of which are the top 10 rentals. aka They have nothing.

So it looks like imma have to do that online in the mail renting service, which I always wanted to avoid as I didn't want the hassle, but if these services have most of the games for the x360, i'll defiently deal with it. So who do you use?

Also, I heard Xbox Live was going to be doing a download/renting service where you can purchase/rent games to download and play them and it kept your purchase history (so if you deleted the game off to make space it would remember you bought it and woulnd't charge you again), was this complete bull**** or what?

no idea what that Xbox Live service you mention is, as for Blockbuster their selection is OK around here, although availability is limited. i doubt it's as bad as you make it seem, five stands is about what you get at the average store. they don't have every game ever released, after all.

and if you mean Gamefly, forget it, i think it's a con. it's for people who want to play something, anything, mostly old filler games. you'll never get the games you want, you'll wait forever for new titles etc etc. i tried it for three months then gave up and cancelled. there's no substitute for buying games, but if you're like me and can't afford it, Blockbuster is better.

No seriously, blockbuster doesn't have **** here. Literally had tons of the big, popular games (the ones I normally buy), but the ones I don't think are worth the purchase and the ones for quick points, nadda.

then maybe you'll enjoy Gamefly, if you don't mind waiting around while they ship stuff to you, you'll probably average 3-4 filler games a month. understand their business model is to keep you a subscriber, not to rent games out. they'll do the minimum to keep you hooked while also sending you the minimum. at least with Blockbuster you pay per disc.

    • They are neither of those things They cause virtually zero issues to end users as when leveraged correctly they are invisible. They aren't 'DRM', because, they're nothing to do with DigitalRightsManagement Some Anti-Cheat services I did see are starting to *use* the TPM to store creds/tokens, which it's for, but it's not involved beyond that. I would suggest doing some reading, both articles are fairly lengthy, but for MS Learn they're actually pretty decent at explaining the concepts.
