So would this offer a significant speed increase with a pentium 4 HT? and how exactly does this work?

Ive just installed this patch onto my P4 HT machine and ran a 3DMark06 test and it did improve on the CPU test quite significantly. Maybe just a coincidence, im not sure. However it does seem to load programs up faster such as Firefox, Windows Defender and Paint Shop Pro. :)

Hmm I have a P4 HT. It's beta though, and something that screws with the processor I dont know...Is it just something if you dont like you can open up control panel and remove it? or once you install it, its there?

It does seem to improve speed. But, ever since the patch, my PC stays on the BIOS splash screen for a very long time. This is probably totally unrelated, but what else could do it?

Not related as your system hasn't even loaded the boot loader yet and if it has, it hasn't loaded the kernel yet)

It's for multi-cores (Core Duo, Core 2 Duo), multi-processors and processors with HyperThreading (P4 HT)
