Read some of these quotes from reviews, this movie is going to rock!!!

"Martin Scorsese's The Departed. Michael Mann's Heat. Brian de Palma's The Untouchables. And now, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight can join the ranks as one of the best crime dramas in modern movie history." --Staci Layne Wilson

"Daring and uncompromisingly different from previous incarnations of Batman, Nolan hasn't redefined the superhero genre as much as created an unforgettable piece of crime fiction within the context of that realm." --Edward Douglas

"A dark, ambitious, mature and gritty crime saga the likes of which Michael Mann or Martin Scorsese would be proud to call their own." --Garth Franklin

"The Dark Knight is not only the best film I have seen this year, but quite possibly the best superhero movie ever made." -- Brad Miska

"An ambitious, full-bodied crime epic of gratifying scope and moral complexity, this is seriously brainy pop entertainment that satisfies every expectation raised by its hit predecessor and then some." -- Justin Chang

"Nolan's sequel surpasses the original with an intense, disturbing masterpiece." -- Todd Gilchrist

"Dark, grim, haunting and inventive, Dark Knight is nothing short of brilliant, representing Chris Nolan's most accomplished and mature work to date and the best and scariest comic-hero adaptation you're likely to see this summer, perhaps the whole year." -- Emanuel Levy

"The film is quite special but where some films can weather extraneous or padded scenes, The Dark Knight has some distracting bloat to it which keeps it out of masterpiece territory." -- Nick Nunziata

I'm seeing masterpiece and Martin Scorsese's name a lot. I'm so excited to see this film!!!

I'm seriously considering a 3 hour drive to the nearest IMAX theatre for this film.

I'm driving an hour to my IMAX theatre to see it. Not nearly as long as you but I gotta see it on IMAX. I could settle for a regular screen after seeing it once, but the first time. I need it big :) Plus screen aside, the IMAX seating is much much better than your standard theatre, no worries of some tall or fat guy sitting in front of me blocking my batman addiction view.

Haven't even seen it yet, I already believe the hype. I've yet to really see a comic book movie that just blew me away. Spider-Man was close but had too many flaws.

Hype!

:(

My hype for X2 was over the roof in 2003. I read all the reviews, spoilers, video clips & rumors. After seeing it, I wasn't blown away at all. I just thought it was pretty good. God, I hope I haven't spoil myself for TDK. Gotta stay away from the evil temptations.

Its quite different. The X2 previews said it was a great movie. The Dark Knignt previews are saying its among the best movies ever, now that is a hype :(

Lqv2015, not sure if you'd be interested in this, but they have your avatar in a shirt now at Hot Topic: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/pro...D=1215616374649

Oooh I'm very interested. Thanks.

I was going to buy a TDK t-shirt sometime today anyways. It says you'll get an $8 off the movie tix if you spend $20 or over. The T is only $19. LMAO

WOW!!! :woot:

$8 deal is over, I think

It is still listed on their site, so it should still be available: "Spend $20 or more on any Dark Knight merch and get a coupon worth $8 off your ticket to see The Dark Knight!*

*Offer available online only within the United States."

[edit] The front page states in very tiny print that the deal is only valid from 7/2 - 7/11.

^ I doubt they would recast the joker as someone new for a 3rd movie. I know they did for Kate Holmes, but thats only because Tommy Cruise is a control freak and forbid her. But there will definitely be a 3rd, lets hope they make enough off this to shoot the next one completely in IMAX.

Also as far as best comic book movies I'd say Iron Man wins that. These batman movies are good and all, but I don't think I will enjoy it as much as I did Iron Man, it was more fun to watch. Nolans Batmans are like the godfathers, a masterpiece, but not something you can party to :)

This movie will be a masterpiece and they will retain everyone for the third film. Only a new joker will have to be found.

Doubt it, the joker will probably be referenced in the next but certainly not recast.

    • Web search has been one of those crap ware that I try to get rid of asap. It's annoying and slow. It was a cheap way for Microsoft to drive traffic to Bing.
    • All I can say is that think the USB G8 is better in many ways, and costs the same or slightly less. I wouldn't part with mine. It's even a big improvement over the G6 USB. (You can also use studio phones (up to 600 OHMs I think) with the G8, but I have to say that even relatively cheap 30-50 OHM phones sound absolutely great--far better than through most internal motherboard sound!) Considering the difference in these products I am surprised that Creative is still making the PCIe internal card versions. https://www.headphoneer.com/cr...ve-sound-blaster-g8-review/
    • I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?
    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output!
