No SLI yet. Control Panel is still lacking in options.

I'm getting terrible performance with all drivers. I hear these reports of decent game play but I am not seeing it. The built in RC2 drivers worked for me fairly well, aero etc. but terrible game frames, and these new ones are almost the same. Is there something to do to increase game performance? I mean my specs aren't bad, I just want "near" xp related performance that I hear about.

Seeing how NVidia are stuggling with drivers for Vista, makes me think... Do I want to buy an NVidia DX10 Part when it's released?

It should make you think...do you want really to update to Vista. I think Vista will suck big time...there is gonna be a big problems with SLI under Vista...

Maybe. But there is just enough features to make me actually want to use Vista over XP.

I just hope NVidia are competent enough to write decent drivers.

Blergh, I can't use my monitor's native resolution of 1440 x 900, just like the driver shipped with RC2.

I can't believe Microsoft is RTM'ing this thing in 10 days! Vista itself is fine, but with all those driver issues, makes you think they are really rushing this product due to pressure. It feels like we're in Beta 2 stage. Scary...

PharosBR, it's not Microsoft's fault that IHVs can't write good code. It's not like the product isn't there to test against. I mean cmon ... "Hey, we have just finished our RC2 drivers! Lets see if it flickers.. yep! Ok, ship it!"

Uh huh.

Strangely I think these are just being churned out through the WHQL process and not actually live-tested.

Same here..... :( was very excited when I see the news.. I'm downloading now but the hype is all gone bah

Find it weird though cause I don't see any stuttering in CoH and I can use 1600x1200 resolution for my desktop.. just wondering whether mine will go worse if I install this.. well worth a try anyway

    • "This transition will take several years so we shouldn't bother doing it at all" is a naive take. This is completely normal for all specifications that cross-cut software, hardware and multiple industries. Look at the PCI specification for another example, consumers barely have PCI-E 5 yet PCI-SIG is working on PCI-E 8. AV2 will take multiple years to get adoption and even then, even a decade from now people will still have older hardware that doesn't support it. That's fine, because the savings still add up as newer devices add the hardware to deal with it. The goal is never to get 100% on the new spec overnight, but to gradually adopt it.

    • I named Hitler because he is the de facto anti-semite. But you don't have to hate Jews to be a genocidal maniac. In fact, these days, so called semites are the ones acting in ways that would make Hitler proud.
