Spray on, and forget about nasty speed cameras

Recommended Posts

We all know we shouldnt, we all know when we open that letter in the mail and see how much money we have just lost we really have no one else to blame, but fortunately that might all be a thing of the past.

CBS news is reporting a nifty new auto tool, which essentially is sprayed onto your number plate; the spray adds a high gloss coating which at a variety of angles reflects the speed cameras flash back onto itself.

The idea is to make the license tag glossy - so shiny that it reflects the radar camera's flash.

The cops say it doesn't work. But an auto shop has sold more than 700 cans, and only four drivers have called to complain.

In an unscientific experiment, Chen tried it on a CBS staffer's tag and tried to reproduce the flash with a Polaroid camera.

They sound like good odds dont they?

Isn't it illegal to do anything to the plates of a car to obstruct them from view?
I think you'll find that in most countries this is highly illegal.
it's definatly illegal in Ontario ... and I know some ppl who have gotten larger tickets because of it.

Here's a hint, to those who "just have to" speed ... Leave your location 5 minutes or 10 minutes earlier, and DO NOT SPEED. Don't blame the police when you get a ticket because, going more then 10km over the hour will get you a ticket. ... everyone knows that as long as your in a 'limit' (Ontario I belive is 10km over) you won't get a fine. I've done 55 in a 50 zone, past police, with no reprecusions, I had a friend who did 61 in a 50 zone, and was fined for it. And on the 400 Series Highway, we all know, doing 100 isn't 'normal' even though that's the limit ... most everyone on the 400's are doign 110-130... some - idiots that they are - do more then 120. But if you get caught, theres only one person to blame. Yourself.

Courttv had a tv show called Speeders, in which police impound a car going 20mph over the limit and contain devices like these to block cameras and identify by police.

watched yesterday first time, like it

omg I"m gonna dry like psycho and try to killl someone bc i'm late to the party :pinch:

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates.
