How Do You Pronounce ".gif" file acronym?

The other day I was telling my friend to open some .gif animation in picture viewer because it was opening in powerpoint by default for some reason.

I've always pronounced it as "jiff" but according to him it's pronounced like "gift" w/o a "t".

So how do you guys pronounce it?

I seriously can't believe, even for a second, anyone really believes it's correct pronunciation is anything but GIF, as in GIF[T].

Did some googling and found out that "Jiff" is actually the correct way to pronounce it.

But it seems that pronouncing it as "gif(t)" is more common.

So...just out of curiosity, for those that pronounce it as "jiff", would you ever consider pronouncing it as "gif(t)" in a business setting (i don't know when you would talk about file formats oh well lol) just to avoid people being confused or think that you are actually in the wrong despite knowing "jiff" is the correct pronunciation?
