We?re breaking the tradition of naming releases after jazz musicians to congratulate Ryan Boren on his new son (and first WP baby) Ronan.

What?s new? We have about 50 or so bugfixes, which you can review on our dev tracker here, mostly minor bug fixes around feeds, custom fields, and internationalization. If you?d like a nitty-gritty view, check out Mark?s blog post on the changes.

Thanks, all i need now is a free Wordpress host, the best one around, any idea?

I don't know of any good free hosts. But you could always get a free blog at www.wordpress.com You don't get the ability to customize it as much (I think), but hey, it's free and they do all the maintenance for you.

how do you upgrade a previous version of wordpress to the latest?

Very, very carefully ;)

I would read through these instructions before attempting the upgrade.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

Note: The upgrade instructions themselves haven't been updated yet to detail an upgrade from 2.04 to 2.05. They should be pretty close though. At the very least, I would backup your database.

I'm still not sure what happened when I tried updating mine. But I hope to figure it out soon.

Thanks for the heads up. Now I have to find the one damn core file I edit for my template. I always forget which one it is lol.

Warning: main(./Forums/conf_global.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /.../index.php on line 104

yup....it must has been the wrong core file

Well, that's not good. It was working fine before and I haven't touched anything since.

edit: seems like it was a server hiccup. 2 connections were left unproperly closed to my database. Just had to do a quick repair and it works.

It'll take alot more than bugfixes to make me want to go through the trouble of upgrading again.

Unless you customize core files, there's almost no hassle at all. Not upgrading is very detrimental to your setup, especially when someone decides they don't like you.
