Rainbow Six: Vegas |x360| Early Impressions

Recommended Posts

I just took a look at a video over on GT and I must say it looks amazing, the gameplay looks like something you could get hooked on and Single Player CO-OP on LIVE for up to 4 Players is awesome! Can anyone provide a link to me showing the Face Mapping feature? The video only showed a 5 second glimpse.

What I hate in Rainbow Six Vegas is the accuracy - its just awful.

Half of your bullets are gigantic tracers and all submachineguns have better accuracy and power than rifles.

hmm thx for the update hipster. is it true the health system's like COD2-3/GOw in that it recharges? that would help, GRAW sucked eggs for having no med packs in-level.

Yes, it recharges..

Screen goes almost all black with strange color distortion..

To answer myself...

There's a good video on CO-OP and face customization on EuroGamer TV Today. Check it out here.

Anyone know if the face mapping feature will map glasses? I might pick up this game and whatever the camera is called. Might just buy the bundle with an extra year of Xbox Live to save money.

One of the members on here posted some shots earlier in this thread with his glasses on.

Hmm... must have missed that. Couldn't tell from the first picture because his face was all washed out. I can see them of the other picture, and it looks better than I expected.

Been released in the UK tomorrow, just got my copy through from Gameplay! However for some reason, Gameplay have sent me two copies, but only charged me for one! :blink: So now it seems i've got a free copy of RS Vegas :D Anyway probably give this a go tonight after work....

This is why I change my ROF to 1 round per trigger squeeze. I never liked how in RS or GR they default you to maximum ROF. Personally, I think the 1 round is alot more 'realistic' and the accuracy is greatly improved because you don't have the recoil. Slap on a silencer and you can be deadly.

That said, the sneaking up on enemies is kind of weak. There have been instances where I stay completely covered by a wall and the enemy still knows I'm coming and starts firing away.

Finally got the game, I'm not even done with the first Map Section of the game before i jumped on Live.

I love the Player Customization! Finding matches can be a real pain, great pings, no Connect issues but when i search for an English server

i always end up on a server where they speak Japanese, German or BlaBlaMakesNoSense. I really wanna try out Co-op, but i know so few

people who has Xbox 360 :(

Oh really?

What button he was using to shoot with

Well different games have different control setups, but usually:

Right Trigger = Shoot

Left Trigger = Grenade

X = Reload

Y = Switch Guns

etc

Send me a friend invite, I'll be happy to play Co-Op with you, I got the game a week or so ago but I haven't had a chance to play it at all yet.

If you got time for a game tonight, I'll be online from now and the next 2-3 hours :)

Is anyone else having problem while playing Realistic mode, I started playing couple of days ago and I think after the 2 or 3rd mission the game changed the setting to normal all by itself.

I started on realistic - dunno if it has changed, where do you see that?

Yeah I know that! :p

I was talking to soloredd - he says he switches semi-automatic for improved accuracy.

But I cant shoot fast enough with the trigger buttons on semi-automatic setting so I was wondering if he used 'smaller' buttons to shoot making it easiyer and faster.

Look down and see :p

    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
