AutoPatcher XP November 2006

Recommended Posts

Thanks and congratz to Autopatcher team all the while for their superb release.

However, I installed the November Update and it seem that in my list doesn't have

- KB922760: Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP SP2

as stated in the new updates for November. Izzit just mine or other experience the same thing as well? :unsure:

"This release is based on the all-new AutoPatcher 5.1. Although it was made with Windows XP SP2 English in mind, it will load on any (English) Windows version, showing only the items which match the running environment."

Just found your program and am trying the November XP release for the 1st time - several questions:

1) According to Windows Update, my system is up to date - yet according to autopatcher, I am missing two critical updates. Reading the KB on the updates, I see no reason why they should not be installed on my system (XP-Pro). Curious as to why you pick them up and Windows Updates does not. Just check the system using the security definitions for Belarc Advisor dated 2006.11.14 - and it passes with a clean bill of health - no missing critical updates.

The two items in question are: 901190 & 917537

2) Of the 45 recommended updates - only 11 show as already installed. Again, according to Windows Update, I am up to date and have no optional components waiting to install.

Some of the early ones I recognize has having been downloaded an installed on earlier system rebuilds - but have not been offered on more current rebuilds. I had assumed that they were no longer needed or were replaced with something else more current.

3) On the MSXML section - it shows that I have Security update for MSXML 3.0 SP7 installed KB924191 - yet is telling me that I don't have MSXML 3.0 installed. Is it possible to have the SP7 update installed w/o having the base program installed? (I have no idea what is installed).

Just curious - wanted to be sure that any updates for XP-Home are not being display when the OS is XP-Pro. I assume that there is no problem installing everything - so that it will switch to a BLUE installed state...

Thanks -

Nice work, this is the best program ever written for windows ya know, I use it ALL the time at work and when necessary at home too, it has every small utility, registry entry, and update i have ever needed for an XP install. Love it.... and glad this update has all the latest releases in it too. I so hope you continue your efforts with a Vista version as well, as this single app has literally halved my reinstall time.

Is there anyway to get IE7 to install but then validate after I have connected up to the net? (Similarly to WMP11)

I have tested out Nov Full on my VirtualPC system but did not include WGA. (However I will on my live system)

Bassically speaking I am not going to connect my machine up to the net until after I have ran AutoPatcher and installed av + fw. So will I not be able to to install IE7 until I have connected up?

Mat.

I think these versions of IE7 and WMP 11 don't need it.

jstern, funny. i've justed now my pt-br build to match with updates with the english official version, and msie7 asks nothing. ive just put an "Module:\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-ptb.exe" /quiet /update-no /norestart and it works fine, no asks done (and i've don't changed any piece of msie7 or wga). but to test, i've selected to install wga. and no asks done. for wmp11, it too install in silence, but to run it, you must validate it first. my string to install: "Module:\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-pt-br.exe" /q. official one: "Module:\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe" /q:A /c:"setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /P:#e /DisallowSystemRestore /SetWMPAsDefault". just to be fair, i will run one test to see if that annoing validation is done by default with this one

edit: test done. seems that booth instalation options have the same result: user still needs click to validate at the first time that wmp11 runs. that isn't a problem at all. so, i keep my string. it's more simple.

and, by the way: framework 1.1 isn't listed by windows update for pt-br anymore. bitmonster seems not fit to pt-br or something else, so i've replaced it by dotnetfx11, langpack11 and NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe. now, everything is fine and notting remains on windows update (unless you have some sort of hardware listed in there, of course :cool: )

i'm uploading it (and will take at least 5-6 hours to finish), but it is unofficial. so...

Hey! New-B here. Just ran the November Full version on my W2k machine, and I have to say that I DO LOVE this software! I run a system with removable main-drives (to quickly change OS as needed) and because of experimentation, I'm frequently re-installing my OS's. As a general rule, I run either W2k, XP-Pro or Student. The wife has a store-bought that runs XP MediaCenter.

sorry if this has been covered, but I've searched diligently and haven't seen it. Can I safely use this software to update my wifes' XP Mediacenter os version?

I think I've figured out that the blue text means that the updates were already installed or detected on the system (is that right? ) -if I could suggest one thing, it would be a color-legend to interpret the different colors of the patching program. In any case, first time I ran it, it ran without a hitch. Nice work!

Thanks in advance!

Morning, Just found an issue and we are investigating further. Tested NovLite package on new HP and Acer units without a problem, however when run on a Toshiba A100-TA1 unit there is a problem with the IE7 update. Had no problems with validation such as was mentioned by others and seemed to install flawless. However the IE7 update does not seem to register properly within XP. There is no IE7 icon in the start menu and when you type in any address in the address bar in IE7 it returns an error "the requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context." This installation problem also prevents Norton AntiVirus 2007 from installing. As I mentioned this error does not occur in any other machine except this one Toshiba model (other A100 models TA2, TA4, SK8, tested ok) tested so far and did not occur with August Lite plus Sept and Oct updates followed by the MS IE7 install. This was duplicated on more than one unit of this type but was resolved by deselecting the IE7 update in the Nov Lite package and then installing IE7 after from the MS download.

Thanks

Keep up the awesome work.

inside of compressed (stored, in fact), you have 2 files. the exe himself and another txt with md5, if you wanna double check it. all files was checked for viruses by mcafee, DAT version 4909 (01/12/2006). it's an unofficial version, so, if you wanna wait for a official one, go ahead.

it have the same modules than english version, but it have some modifications:

installer:

if selected to put icons on desktop, it will put a uninstall icon too.

added:

kb926139: for translated versions, it changes kb id. it's 926140 (module renamed KB926139_40)

7zip (compactador freeware);

winrar 3.61 br (shareware);

foxit pdf reader: translation adapted to brazilian portuguese. keyboard shortcuts are not showed, just like english version. if you wanna correct some kind of mistaken translation, just pm;

unlocker 1.8.5

sun java 5 update 10

.net 1.1: added dotnetfx11 redist, langpack11, NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe. removed bitmonster build. now, you don't see .net 1.1 also an needed update at windows update, because it's now fully here. it installs at once if you select .net 1.1 to install

KB887472: needed if you don't select to install windows messenger 5.1

modules removed

==============================

google bar: unneeded

iespell: unneeded, unless you type in english

modules keeped

==============================

.net 2.0 framework: .net 3 already have .net 2, but if you don't install it, you may see .net 2 also an needed update at windows update. so, it stay here for now

modules not added

==============================

windows defender: it's still beta and it's in english. so, it doesn't belong to an pt-br system. but if you still wanna that, just need download it

KB925876: it doesn't fit for pt-br versions yet

changed:

autopatcher.exe v5.1.0.40

tweak undo.exe v1.0.0.1

autopatcher module editor.exe v2.0.0.7

note: some auto-selected modules are changed. mostelly, checked by default instalation of screensavers, themes and security

remaining things to update on windows update after install: today, nothing, unless you have some sort of hardware listed there.

but please be aware that this version does not contains any sort of cracks, wga bypasses and this kind of stuff and there's some updates that may require wga validation (like msie7 and wmp11). so, don't blame me if it isn't fully functional on generic windows...

Blaze, you are a legend! :D

Just a few notes though. You're missing Java update (as said), RDC6 (KB925876) (as said), and SyncToy 1.4. But since you included WIE7, WMP11 and WD and thereby made my reformat/reinstall time much shorter, I can forgive it to you... ;)

Just kidding, I'm most grateful for all this.

P. S. Which WIE7 is this? It's been said in Hotfix depot that M$ updated WIE7 a few times. And I guess this is updated WMP11? Just checking all this.

    • AMD releases hotfix for driver install issues on Windows 10 PCs by Taras Buria Earlier this week, AMD released an important graphics driver update. Version 26.6.2 brought AMD FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen Radeon lineup, the RX 7000 series, giving users better upscaling tech that was previously locked to the newest GPUs. However, the driver turned out to be a little buggy, with users reporting installation issues on systems still running Windows 10. AMD quickly acknowledged the bug and today released a hotfix to resolve the problem. The AMD 26.6.3 Hotfix update is now available for download from the official website. Given that it is a hotfix release, it has only one change in its release notes: AMD announced the update on its official X account and added that a WHQL driver update with the necessary fixes would be released next week. Meanwhile, users can apply the hotfix or roll back to the previous driver using the official AMD Cleanup Utility. You can download AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview Driver from the official website here. It is compatible with all currently supported graphics cards and 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. Full release notes are available on the same page.

    • Amazon Prime Day 2026 deal sees Samsung Odyssey 49" 240Hz QD-OLED monitor at lowest price by Sayan Sen Earlier today we covered a very good deal on JBL's BAR 800 Dolby Atmos soundbar system as the unit is available for just $600 as part of Amazon Prime Day 2026 deals. That's not all though as there are many more discounts to choose from. If you are looking for a high-end monitor, Samsung's 49 inch G9 QD-OLED gaming monitor is a solid deal too as it's currently just $855 (purchase link under the specs table down below). It is a super-ultrawide (32:9) 1440p curved gaming monitor and as such should offer a very immersive experience. The G93SC is a 49-inch QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) screen and that means it should have excellent contrast as well as color reproduction. Brightness is a bit lacking though so if you are looking to set it up in a relatively bright room, you may be better off with something else. Speaking of external light and brightness, the major difference on the G93SC vs the newer G93SD is that the latter comes with Samsung's "Glare Free" technology to reduce glare while the C model packs a glossy finish. The technical specifications of the Samsung G93SC are given in the table below: Specification Value Panel Type OLED Screen Shape Curved Screen Curvature 1800R Resolution DQHD (5120 × 1440) Aspect Ratio 32:9 Brightness (Typical) 250 cd/m² Brightness (Minimum) 200 cd/m² Contrast Ratio 1,000,000:1 HDR Support VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 HDR10+ HDR10+ Gaming Response Time 0.03 ms (GTG) Refresh Rate Up to 240 Hz Viewing Angle 178° Horizontal / 178° Vertical Color Support 1 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% DCI-P3 (CIE1976) Adaptive Sync FreeSync Premium Pro / G-SYNC Compatible DisplayPort 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 1 × HDMI 2.1 Micro HDMI 1 × Micro HDMI 2.1 USB Hub 3 × USB 3.0 Speakers Built-in Speaker Output 5W × 2 Channels Operating Temperature 10°C – 40°C Operating Humidity 10–80% (Non-condensing) Stand Type Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) Height Adjustment 120.0 ± 5.0 mm Tilt -2° (±2°) to 15° (±2°) Wall Mount 100 × 100 mm (VESA) Included HDMI Cable HDMI-to-Micro HDMI Cable Included DisplayPort Cable Yes Get it at the link below: Samsung 49" Odyssey G93SC Series Curved Gaming Monitor, QD-OLED: $854.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US with Prime) Prime subscription can be cancelled within three business days at no cost. • Actually Windows 11 is the GUI from Windows 10 X slapped onto Windows 10. Hence the many performance issues and initial limitations of the UI, like all the restrictions on the task bar placement and features. You could not even right click on the Taskbar and bring up task manager when it first shipped. Windows 10X was truly a new OS from the ground up. Basically a lightweight OS that ran containers for various app types. Win32 got its own container. Performance was not good and OEM’s pushed back on it, but wanted a new OS to push Pc sales. Hence Windows 11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10X
