AutoPatcher XP November 2006

xyz123, well said. my version here was called of "final" by ms, but is 7.0.530.11. about wmp11, it's 11.0.521.5145. there's a new one of this ones already?

and, by the way: Microsoft SyncToy 1.4 is on my build. KB925876 isn't yet because it still doesn't fit for pt-br (it deny install)

Muchas gracias AP team :D

Err a question..., this WM 11 validation, what does it require, since some of the computers i do, dont have net access, will it do without validation , or i have to do workaround for those comps?... i mean i discourage ppl to use wm, and to use wm classic that comes with klite, but they still do :(, esspecially now when new ver is out there.

Just wanted to mention that the page: http://torrent.autopatcher5.mirror.ineedho...net/mystats.php

Looks weird in Opera because of Google banners, otherwise a perfect release!

They're not Google ads, they're Clicksor ads :p

I don't have Opera installed, it seems to be the only browser that borks on the page though.

My IE7 won't install on the VirtualPC with WGA. A window pops up saying it is validating my copy of windows and then it just goes away without installing IE7. (No connection to internet)

Not a pain I guess as I can just install it on my own after I have activated Windows on my real PC but would be nice if I could get AP to install it! Any ideas? Mat. :)

Autopatcher creators are GODS! You save my life again and again, whenever we feel hopeless while doing updates via dial-up, BAM! a new autopatcher is released and drop that sun'a'bitch on my flashdrive and away i go. All of us techs love this project u got here, and either this friday or two weeks from now i plan to donate to yaz :-D :woot:

OK Perhaps someone can give me a hand. I've run into a snag with the Nov ed. I've downloaded both the upgrade and the full and have problems with both.

Before I get into that I would like to say THANK YOU! to the folks behind this. Autopatcher saves me lots of time and effort when reloading customers computers.

First for the upgrade.

The PC I installed the upgrade on is a Dell 4600 that had The Aug Full installed along with the Sept & Oct updates, all of which worked great. Installation of Nov Update went fine. When I run the program I get an error.

"Module Panic

! Module Panic on Microsoft XML Paser (MSXML) 3.0 SP7!

You are running Windows XP Professional Edittion (English -- locale 1033) + IE7

Parent and/or Prerequisite item missing?"

!?!? Did I miss something? I did install IE7 final a few weeks ago. I'm assuming I've got a problem, since all the releases of Autopatcher I've used on my PCs and others have been flawless, but what is that problem?

Second Problem. My primary PC...self built system...no cheapo crap.

I had previously installed Aug Full installed along with the Sept & Oct updates, but uninstalled autopatcher (I went on an uninstall crusade)... I reinstalled from the Nov full. but when I run it I get the EULA screen, but it is blank, as well as both of the options. I click the top circle, knowing that is the agree option...and click the left button (both buttons are also blank). and Promptly get a "Run-time error 429: ActiveX component can't create object." I click on and then then autopatcher closes.

Also...to see what is would do. I tried to reinstall Aug Full, and then all updates thru Nov and still I get the same response on this second PC.

Any ideas? Any help appreciated. Thank you in advance.

i really dont understand why several people are having module panic errors with the msxml 3 module. @alabasterdragon, can you confirm you have a file called msxml_enu.amc in c:\program files\autopatcher\modules\components\

I ran a search on the entire drive...and the answer is no

I copied the file from the machine that I'm getting the blank eula (activex error) and that does fix the problem.

The problem I don't think is the installer, or the download. I (since my first post) updated my wife's pc with the same downloaded nov update, and it worked fine.

That at least got me around the problem. If I have to I just run Drive image and restore the other pc to the last image...and try again.

Thank you.

:)

that 'msxml_enu.amc' should have been injected (or at least updated) in October; mine carries the date 10/15/2006 ...

I haven't applied the November patches yet !

Can I proceed ?

:)

Q: Now that AP includes IE7/WMP11 - does it still patches IE6/WMP10 up-to-date?

Reason is, I don't want to have compatability issues, and since IE7/WMP11 are not things that can be uninstalled totally & easily, I'd rather wait before updating to them, but still have my IE6/WMP10 fully updated - will AP Nov06+ do that?

Thanks.

Followup to earlier post, this problem showed up on various other systems including HP Media Centre units. Solution is to uninstall IE7 and then reinstall from MS download.

Thanks guys for all your hard work

Morning, Just found an issue and we are investigating further. Tested NovLite package on new HP and Acer units without a problem, however when run on a Toshiba A100-TA1 unit there is a problem with the IE7 update. Had no problems with validation such as was mentioned by others and seemed to install flawless. However the IE7 update does not seem to register properly within XP. There is no IE7 icon in the start menu and when you type in any address in the address bar in IE7 it returns an error "the requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context." This installation problem also prevents Norton AntiVirus 2007 from installing. As I mentioned this error does not occur in any other machine except this one Toshiba model (other A100 models TA2, TA4, SK8, tested ok) tested so far and did not occur with August Lite plus Sept and Oct updates followed by the MS IE7 install. This was duplicated on more than one unit of this type but was resolved by deselecting the IE7 update in the Nov Lite package and then installing IE7 after from the MS download.

Thanks

Keep up the awesome work.

ap nov 2006 - full (xp) eng.

i installed the full ver. everything loaded fine.

i discovered that help files for most apps (word, excel etc) cannot display any topics.

any ideas?

thanks,

teraboy

What version of MS Office are you using?

Have you had previous versions installed on the computer?

Any custom help files or modifications?

Do both the answer wizard and help topics appear blank?

Do you have the same problem when logged in with administrative priviledge and user priviledges?

Hi,

In order for validation to work you must have KB892130 installed.

If this is not installed you will fail validation even if you have a good Windows Product Key.

Some of the parameters on the WMP11 install command line are really needed to prevent reboots and to work around issues if you have System Restore disabled.

If you don't use them you may run into problems and issues with some installs of WMP11.

My advice would be to use the complete commands lines as used by APXP to avoid these issues.

Kind Regards

Simon

PsiMoon314, ok. i've changed here. but will be fixed only next month. but interesting. i did some tests with system restore disabled and the only one thing that changed was the time for install. but maybe be just luck.

thanks for advice

    • TeraCopy 4.0 Build 26 by Razvan Serea TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files. Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual. TeraCopy is free for non-commercial use only. For commercial use you need to buy a license. The paid version of the program includes the following features: Copy/move to your favorite folders. Save reports as HTML and CSV files. Select files with the same extension/folder. Remove the selected files from the copy queue. TeraCopy 4.0 Build 26 changelog: Added support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. Improved exception handling and automated bug report upload. Fixed several minor bugs and small memory leaks. Build 26 (June 24) Fixed a rare exception when a transfer completed. Features added since version 3.17: Enhanced speed graph. New multi-threaded copy engine. Support for copying to multiple targets. Queue system for managing multiple copy operations. Support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. TeraCopy entry in the modern Windows Explorer context menu. Integrated toolbar in the title bar. Why receive LocalSend transfers with TeraCopy? Handle file conflicts: Skip, overwrite, or rename files when a file with the same name already exists. LocalSend always creates another copy, which can waste time and disk space, especially when resuming an interrupted transfer. Filter unwanted files: Apply ignore lists or remove files manually before accepting a transfer, so unnecessary files are not downloaded. Better performance on fast networks: In tests over a 10 Gbps connection, TeraCopy received files several times faster than the standard LocalSend app on Windows. • Age of Empires Mobile comes to PC, here's how to carry over progress from your phone by Ivan Jenic Image: YouTube/Microsoft Microsoft just released Age of Empires Mobile for PC. The game, officially called Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition, is available for free on Steam and Microsoft Store, almost two years after its initial release for handheld devices. Age of Empires is one of those franchises that entire generations grew up with. The original came out in 1997, and immediately got people hooked to building civilizations and crushing their enemies on the battlefield. However, the franchise today is a far cry from its roots, as Age of Empires Mobile is, well, a game optimized for handheld devices, and not a classic RTS title we’ve all loved for years. And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. The PC version is still a mobile game at its core, but it’s been optimized for desktop play. There’s mouse control, full keyboard compatibility, and a refined UI. Microsoft also refreshed the visuals with some 4k textures, so the game should look better on larger screens. The game supports Crossplay, so you can switch between your phone, tablet, and PC without losing anything. But linked progress doesn’t come out of the box, as you have to enable it first. Here’s how to link your progress: On your mobile device, open Age of Empires Mobile. Go to Settings (Gear icon) > Account. Select Bind Account and choose a sign-in option. Once you enable account binding, sign in on PC using the same method, and your progress will be accessible across all your devices. Xbox Game Pass subscribers also get a bonus reward pack on PC, which includes: 1 Monthly Pass Token 1 Custom Resource Chest 10 Universal 60-Minute Speed-Ups 1,000 Empire Coins Exclusive Player Portrait Frame You can find more info about Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition, as well as download links, on the Age of Empires official website.
