Microsoft reaches limit on Vista, Office giveaway

As far as I know, no one has gotten an e-mail confirmation about completing the offer, only what was shown on the web site. I have gotten a few e-mails asking to submit feedback on some of the videos I watched, but that is it so far.

I have the same congradulations message. I think once it gets closer to shipping we will get emails.

iwas thinking of getting a new computer but now since I am getting a free version of vista business I do not know if I should still get a new comp.

My current comp is no slouch :

I got a confirmation email about my completion of 3 webcasts, but that is it. I'm sure we'll hear more about this sooner than later, especially as we get closer to the release of Office 2007 to the consumer market.

How do you know if you have completed the requirements and will receive a copy.

I have watched my 3 videos, and left feedback for each.

I haven't heard anything else.

Has anyone recieved their copy of Vista and or Office yet?

I completed all of my requirements before they ran out, I even got a notification from them a few weeks ago informing me I needed to submit a W9 I believe since the combined gift was over a certain amount.

So I did that and faxed it over to them, but have not heard anything else since. Wondering if anyone has gotten anything yet, or will they not ship until after the release? The way some of the info on the powertogether site was worded it almost sounded like we might get our copies before the official release but doesn't appear that way now.

Yeah about two or three weeks ago I got a confirmation about my order confirming that I would receive my free copy. I'm sure it will arrive at some point after it's on shelves but not entirely sure when. I thought the site said 6 weeks after RTM... which has already come and gone IIRC

Yes, I got my copy today. Not installing, but I have got it. It's just a booklet with a disk inside. Funny that the invoice says "Eval". Though I hope it's a full copy.

They did the same thing with the free give-away to retail staff promotion. Basically you signed up to a website, watched some videos and answered some questions about vista and then you've got your free copy of vista and office, but unfortunately they failed to mention that because it was so popular they are only giving away 3 per store. My store as 1 manager who will get one obviously, 5 full time staff, and 5 casuals. and definitely more than 3 people interested.

it sucks, but hey, what can you do :(

Whew. I just got mine the other day, I put it on my laptop. Seems a bit snappier than XP, and I notice increased network throughput.

I got confirmation mine would be dispatched a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure because I know it was only open to US residents.
