Technology Office Christmas Decorating Ideas HELP

Recommended Posts

Our office is decorating our work areas as a competition. All of our little cubicles are together in one area, so as a unit, we must come up with a Christmas decorating idea that is themed by our designation as the Technology department.

Anybody have any ideas?

We had an idea like what houses do with their lights and hook them up to their PC, and use a program to choreograph a sequence with music, but our budget is under $30. It's possible to do if I could find a program for free to sequence the lights.

That's our only idea, any ideas from you guys and gals?

I say you ignore the price limit.... it'll be expected since an IT group coming in on time and under budget is pretty rare. Flip on down to the store and pick up some gingerbread kits... don't make them into houses though... create a Gingerbread Server room... use the icing for cables, gingerbread for racks, servers, the 'raised' floor, candies for dials and all those fun multi-coloured lights, and perhaps a few candy canes for decoration/warning signs/fire suppression systems.

total cost... less than $50.

Hmmm, gingerbread server room is a good idea, but the damn thing would take forever to create, and we have deadlines to meet, lol. But it may be worth a shot.

LEDs would be nice as that was our aim, something along the lights, but looking for any ideas.

Budget and Deadline two words that don't exist in the IT world :-P

Well.... they exist they just aren't used.

Well, you could buy half a dozen USB Missile Launchers then get some little models of santa and reindeer, or people from the Nativity and hold an Office Missile Launching Championship :p You plug the launcher in and use your mouse to aim it, click to fire.

Give each person 6 shots, and hold either a league style or cup style tournament :)

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
