VCD's?

Recommended Posts

did anyone manage to play VCD's on their 360? i've heard rumors but haven't tried yet.

i get a lot of stuff on VCD and it would be nice to have this work...i know the 360 isn't supposed to play them but i am tempted by what other ppl are saying.

Would also like to know this, I don't have VCDs (well the odd one) but it would be handy to know. If it does, that is a plus one for the 360!

indeed, it would be nice to have this capability, if only for knowing that they had as many users as possible in mind...that's a rarity in the console market!

lol Sheppard, so said my first high school "sweetheart". anyway, i was trying to see what others have found, coz it does vary. i've seen PS2's that could play em, but mine never did. of course those consoles may have been modded, i don't know.

what did you find, Cavalyr?

VCD and SVCD support: The Xbox 360 console will play video CDs and super video CDs in addition to DVD movies, audio CDs, and games.

According to the official UK Xbox.com webpage here. About half way down the page :).

I googled "XBOX 360 VCD" and I think it was the third result, but I have Personal Search for Google enabled with my Google Account :).

Your welcome :).

well darkgash, i don't know what they were on when they wrote that thing, but it doesn't work. put in one of my fave hentai VCD's, got ready for some lovin', then 360 tells me she's got a "mixed media disc" in the drive and go to media blade to peruse it. of course none of the files could be read, although it was divided into the usual VCD folders of CDI, Segment, MPEG etc...

thus far no dice!
