Mac OS X 'Leopard'-related Discussion

^ Its annoying I know, but the iPhone weather widget uses Yahoo instead of Accuweather in Tiger. So hopefully their source will be more accurate. I would also like it if they would add extra features to it, such as the air quality humidity, and for myself allergy information. Is Dashboard even updated in Leopard? Aside from the webclip tool.

They added a movie widget, but other than that I dunno, I think it's the same. If they use Yahoo for weather on the iPhone, though, you'd think they'd switch it for Leopard.

Anyone able to check?

I really hope the next Leopard build (which may very well be the final build) adds the iTunes 7 scroll bars. The more I use 9A559, the more incomplete it feels with those ancient Aqua relics still around. (Of course, the progress bars are still Aqua-based, as well. These need to be replaced with the flat progress bars used on the new iPod nano.)

My thoughts exactly. My instincts tell me it's gonna happen - Aqua's gone from iTunes 7, the iPhone and the redesigned Apple.com. Also, the new folders in Leopard would perfectly match the new matte blue theme (which I love). It's like a missing piece necessary for everything to click. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

^that looks like a bloody mess.

i dont like the scrollbars on apple.com/mac either, itunes 7 scrollbars and the progressbar from the new nano... perfect.

as far as i can tell from the pictures, i didnt use any build yet...

btw... is your home folder called leo because of leopard or is it your name? if so...: hello mr. you-have-the-same-name-as-i-have. :) ;)

Those don't look very good. The iTunes 7 scroll bars are perfect, that's what Apple needs to add.

iTunes scrollbars looks like someone starting to use Photoshop made them hehe. :p They are not good.

Another vote for iTunes 7 scrollbars/buttons and new window controls.

Old Aqua needs to be put to rest. It's served us well. Did a great job in making Windows look bad back in the day, but now it's time to bring in a whole new GUI. Not mixed and mashed, old and new -- Just do something completely new and fresh. All this glassy, bright and glossy blue stuff of the old Aqua needs to go.

I see they still haven't fixed the alignment in the Finder back & forward buttons

Fine in Safari (have they been bad in past versions? Can't remember).

I'm liking the new network disk icon in the latest build though (Used to show network folder in the last version).

I don't even have Leopard :p It's a screenshot that someone posted over at InsanelyMac.

Here is the Finder with the iTunes scrollbars:

That looks wicked. It seems they've really gone for the whole iTunes-like appearance. It looks a lot more functional than Tiger.

See how much better that looks? Please, Apple, follow through on your promise of a "consistent window look" and add those scroll bars system wide.

I guess if they do that, they'll need to change the dialog buttons too?

Oh, and I notice that the blue theme in Leopard uses a bunch of different shades of blue, whereas the grey theme uses one shade of grey... Is that by design, or will there be one uniform shade of blue for the final product?
