AutoPatcher XP December 2006

^ dotnet 2 has been replaced by dotnet 3! note that dotnet 3 is just a copy of dotnet 2 packed up with a load of extra components, so theres no point in having dotnet 2 as well, and also note that you need to install dotnet 2 updates on top of it! maybe i should add a note about this in the new pinned 'releases' thread...

Oops sorry, just read that now.

Also ...

Hmmm ... can't edit my last post ...

Just wanted to say that the COM+ Hotfix Rollup 13 [KB912817] has been replaced by COM+ Hotfix Rollup 14 [KB922668] and this fixes problems with it installing on dual core machines.

That's not really how things work, just to let you know. Us mirrors can usually take the load of distributing the files without resorting to using free services, but thanks!

I personally find that Rapidshare is twice as fast as any of the other web mirrors so i just thought there may be other people who find the same is true, especially it your a premium user!

seeing as my mirror has never been maxed out i think the web mirrors are fine :) the rapidshare "rule" was created due to some people putting up "mirrors" with ads that just used rapidshare, anyway who wants to use a site which makes you wait to download? :p

and finally, patch is on my mirror as well now :)

I noticed in Recommended Updates that KB891122: Update for DRM-enabled Media Players... is not included in the December release as it was in the November Release. Not that I would apply this patch but just curious.. Also noticed KB918766 not present in December Release (Possibly replaced by KB923694?).. These assumptions are based on the List provided.. (have not implemented AutoPatcher as of yet)

^ read the changelog in the translation packs thread, they were both removed in this release. if i remember correctly, 891122 wasnt for wmp11, and i guess 918766 must have been replaced by something, can't tell you what from off the top of my head.

Any one with a premium account doesn't have to wait at all!

Also None of the web mirrors max out my connection and rapidshare links always do.

I can download nearly twice as fast from rapidshare, and judging by the number of downloads im

getting form the mirror there are plenty of people who prefer to use rapidshare!

Having some problems with KB925486 on my one machine ... running the exe alone states it's not for this version of internet explorer with IE7 installed.

Also the Windows Rights Management seems to have the wrong command line? Only installs when run in GUI mode for me (ie manually.)

i've always maxed out my 10mbit from my mirror even during the hight of a release so either you've not tried mine, lieing or something is wrong your end :p

The correct command line for KB917275 (WRM) should contain the switches "-override 1 /I /quiet". Perhaps another fix to come?

  • KB926247: Security Update for Windows XP

KB926247 This update will only install on systems where the optional SNMP component is installed, it is normal behaviour for the update to fail on most systems!

I have a question to ask, this update failed on my system as I don't have the SNMP component installed. How can I exclude this update from the Autopatcher list everytime then? Will be 'fixed' in the next release as it will only shown if SNMP component exist in the system?

Thanks for the update AP team. Keep up the good work! :)

So yeah...after I updated my PC, I rebooted my system and found that the command line promt was running automatically by itself - it appeared briefly and it said something like "Windows Script" before shutting down [by itself] . Has this happened to anybody else? Or is it just me?

Yeah, that happened to me yesterday. I think it has to do with Windows Script 5.6 because when I ran AP again after rebooting, it will checked. For some reason it did not get installed on the first pass.

Well If you don't plan on using SNMP component then just delete the the module for KB926247 and it wont show up. :D

That is what I did.

^ if your deleting modules then be careful to make sure parts of the module don't creep back in with newer update releases! sometimes i may include new copies of the .amc and .lst files to fix a bug, you'd then have a broken module (the setup file wouldn't be included in the update release unless that had been updated with a newer version). also note that occasionally i do fix minor things like adjusting priorities/names that aren't important enough to mention in the changelogs.

Better than free, BleachBit is open source. BleachBit has many useful features: Delete your private files so completely that "even God can't read them" according to South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy. Simple operation: read the descriptions, check the boxes you want, click preview, and click delete. This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Added cleaners for Visual Studio Code, Codeium, Librewolf (.deb), Transmission (Flatpak), and Profanity. Improved Linux trash detection, including Snap-installed applications and mounted drives. Fixed Wayland root CLI issues and several Snap-related problems. Improved package dependencies, AppStream metadata, and desktop file handling. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
