If you look sideways and read above the 0 line, you will make out the word FILE hence leading to the url of www.vanishingpoint.com/FILE

hmmmm...... i feel kinda stupid now.....

but, reading back on what i read, it all seems pretty obvious about what i said. All we need to do is find more keys, to find more pages, to find more locations. (duh)

But also, would you just walk straight to the 'people' at the fountains/other places, or, would you need a code/password or something..... like, for that phone number, you where asked for then PIN (from the source code)? meh. surely, more will come

Um first I should say thank you for all the work that you guys have done on this to help and assist all of us who just found out about this. Second I have made some observations that I have not seen brought up though I will amit I did not go through all 96 pages of post. Here they are:

1. In Vanishingpointgame.com/file, it says "One peson will find me at my Vanishing point." In this line it seems people have missed one small thing. The word MY is Itallisied (sp?). Meaning to me that yes while there are the times on the Circumambulation page.

2. LOKI on all of the letters was spelled in all caps. To me this say that LOKI is a anagram, a word that is made up of other words (in case I used the wrong word this whole thing has melted my brain.) Alos on that note LOKI is a location based search engine available here http://loki.com/ not sure if it is conected.

3 At the very end of the video when the cammera swings away there is a blur, if you capture the image and mess with it in a picture edditing software you can tell it is a person but no where enough to identify even the sex of said person.

4. No where on the video or that I have noticed anywhere else did anything say that the person in the video was indeed LOKI. Although I do admit that it does make the most since the simple fact is that sometimes what we are suposed to see and what we do are not al ways the same.

5. The yellow paper on the table, I am sorry to say but the drawings on there are nothing more than examples of Vanishing points in art. My wife has actually drawn those in art classes as a practise exersice. Yes including the sphere that poeple have said was a watch.

6. speaking of watches the last one she places in the box is broken. A referance to broken time ? London ? I do not know. but the times on the watches are first 10:15 Or 10:50 it is hard to tell if which it the minute and second hand, then 915, then a broken watch in which the case is put in then the face which is upside down the entire time (buy the way the red red thing is a Craftsman philips crosshead srewdriver i have the same ste), then the one off of the yellow paper whcih reads 4:40.post-192764-1167698410_thumb.jpg

Sor the second that is all my brain will let me remember. Sorry if any of this has been brought up before. Hope this helps.

OK, I know it's a really, really long thread, but I haven't seen anything new in about 20 pages and it's nice to have some fresh minds working on this, BUT: for those of you who haven't been following along, I really, really, really recommend reading through the entire. It only took me an hour or so when it was in its sixties. At least skim the posts. You will find that you're just repeating what's already been said. It will help us all in the long run if nobody's repeating themselves.

As for the above post:

5. The yellow paper on the table, I am sorry to say but the drawings on there are nothing more than examples of Vanishing points in art. My wife has actually drawn those in art classes as a practise exersice. Yes including the sphere that poeple have said was a watch.

Actually, if you had read through all 95 pages, you'd find that what you're looking at is actually a page containing several concepts of advanced physics and, more precisely, relativity.

I know I probably sound like a complete d**k, but it's going to be much easier to see where we're going if you know where we're coming from.

Okay Again I will apologise, I will just keep my keyborad looked up, and my observations to my self.

Thank you for the opertuantly to speak my thought sorry they were over used.

Good luck.

i'd just like to point something out... the circumambulation page says London, England and counts down to 20th January 2007 (which is the day of vista launch over here) but the launch isn't in london, its in reading...

https://msevents.microsoft.com/cui/EventDet...ntid=1032319497

that says reading, not london... they're relatively close, but reading is not a part of london:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=e...0.518375,1.2854

edit: 20 January 2007 09:30 - 20 January 2007 13:30 GMT, London. maybe microsoft do consider reading to be in london, but its in berkshire really...

wow...my eyes are tired...i have spent the last several hours reading (in detail) every single post in this thread. This stuff is really intriguing and pretty addicting. I am young and have limited resources, making me relatively insignificant, but if anyone has suggestions of what i could do to advance the effort, please reply...thanks!

very old, page 50 something

Don't forget to check the VanishingPointGame Wiki. Many of your observations have already been noted.

But updates are occuring as new information and insights are available.

BTW - a complete video transcript with screen caps is posted here. There is no mention of any specific number of cipher keys.

The chocolates have been identified as being Monbana chocolates (made in France).

From reading through some of this thread I can see that on the first few days of this thing the original core of people came in and solved allot of the puzzles. then a whole new group of people came in and speculated on what’s going to happen next, then those people left making room for a whole new group of people who then speculated on the coming events, who then left and made room for another few groups of people who are still speculating on the puzzles. etc etc etc....

Still speculating but if you go to microsoft.com and search for LOKI the pages of results display in an erratic way. First 8 results, then 7-3-2-4-5-3-4-2-5-1-2-2-2-0-2-3-1-3-0-2-5-2-2-1-3 (I think) then it gets weird! Try to advance the index with the next button past page 25. The same 3 results display no matter how many times you click next. Clicking page 26 doesn't advance it either. Click 27, 28 or 29 and the results advance but the current page indicator stays on 25. This isn't normal search behavior. But does it mean anything? Do the numbers represent anything? It could be harmless but interesting nonetheless given the keyword.

We need to keep speculating to keep the game from getting stagnant. Keep all ideas churning. Post things that seem out of the ordinary. We have missed something. We need help.

Did any1 try to contact any of the people who received laptops and probably clues? Because like someone said before making this laptop uproar is the greatest way to ggive us all the names of the people who got clues.

Well I received a laptop with a note but it doesn't have any additional clues and just says that i'll be receiving a box soon and I did which was the original box that was first received by others.

looks like its probably stuff on MS blogs or on the development areas that helped made the puzzle and they ban people from viewing them because obvesly you would get the answer right away, i get 87324534251222023130252213 but it is not a key

and it has probably already been said but looking for vanishingpoint on that search gives 1 result for videomouse, in it has this equation Σi(liTv)2, from http://research.microsoft.com/Users/kenh/p.../VideoMouse.pdf

also, like with http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?m...1&FORM=PNME, it states 25 results but upon counting them, there are only 19 so they have obvesly set up sites to get ideas for the game and they have since removed all of them from the search to prevent sniffing

5. The yellow paper on the table, I am sorry to say but the drawings on there are nothing more than examples of Vanishing points in art. My wife has actually drawn those in art classes as a practise exersice. Yes including the sphere that poeple have said was a watch.

Actually, I can kind of tie up all the drawings with the vanishing point and the theory of relativity where time goes to 0, the truth though, what they have come up is with years of research and is practically impossible to solve in a matter of days, I know I am in the right direction I just need LOKI to tell me cause it has 100 differnt paths. Read my previous posts, and you will know what I am talking about. It is deep physics in its peak, blackholes where time and gravity dosent exist and stuff like that.

LOKI where are you am I on the vanishing PATH ?? :woot:

ok, don't yell at me if this is common knowledge, but, i am going to have a wild guess......

ok, so, i was reading the zenith page, and i read vista. Now, when ever i read/hear of "vista" i immediately think of windows vista. More importantly is this:

Familiar? Windows Vista Ultimate. After all, hast people been saying that this has something to do with Microsoft?

Now onto biography:

At then end it says:

Then what about CIRCUMAMBULATION

These are all times... countdowns, so, something will obviously happen in these cities, at those times..... but where?

Then there is that video........ A couple of places are mentioned/seen/whatever-ed, so, maybe these are the locations that somthing will happen at the time, as mentioned in CIRCUMAMBULATION?

So anyway, my grand guess is that somone will be handing out free copies of windows vista at all the places listed at CIRCUMAMBULATION, at the times specified at CIRCUMAMBULATION?

Then to further back my theory, there is biography:

At the end it says:

Note: 'He' called a friend in a large corporation, as in Microsoft.

So, The person that the bio is all about, there job is to give stuff away to people. They give free copies of Windows Vista Ultimate away to the smartest people on the planet, and, their smart because they figured out all the puzzles and such, and when the countdown hits zero, the copies will be given out, obviously to the smartest people.

Remember, its just a guess, but, if it is true, we will need to find more locations...... They might be referenced in that video, at least two have been spotted: The Japanese Hotel and that place in Las Vagas.

I have an idea, what about the reflection in that mirror that was in the video, could that be some place, yet another location that free copies of vista will be handed out at? I dunno.......

No offense intended, but this has obviously been a Microsoft project from Day 1. The first round of gifts (laptops) Microsoft sent out included a letter from Loki. They were also running Windows Vista Ultimate. So yes, this is what the game is intended to promote. That is not to say, however, that the "ultimate vista" is not loaded with double meaning. It refers to Windows Vista Ultimate, but it also refers to outer space. Giving away Vista can't be it, because I'd say that the "smartest people on the planet" will already have it by the end of the contest. I do.

Anyway, everything you mention was already included in this thread, and at the Vanishing Point Wiki.

New Grand Prize Theory ...

There is one other "ultimate vista" that could pertain directly to the Windows Vista launch, and that would be a trip to see the Northern Lights ... the Aurora Borealis. Anyone who's familiar with Vista's beginnings and where things currently stand knows that Aurora was a codename for the animated Windows Vista desktop that is coming as part of the Windows Vista Ultimate Extras.

http://www.istartedsomething.com/20060906/aurora-desktop/

I don't know why it took me this long to put this together, but this is now what I'm leaning towards. Don't know if less than a thousand people have ever seen the Aurora, but I'd say this would be way easier for Microsoft to pull off.

Discuss. :)

just a thought i had whilst i went to bed last night....

Maybe we need to find out who this person on the bio page is, maybe its talking about a real person?

Then, yeah..... i don't know, it just kinda came to me in my sleep.

Maybe, if we can find someone who was in alot of quiz shows, then later, just vanished or murdered or somthing?

god, as im writing this down, its starting to look not do-able, or just plain wrong

anyway, its just my thoughts...

I do absolutely not think it's the Aurora Borealis. I live in Sweden and i have seen it a lot of times. you can see it almost every night if you live up in the north. More than a million people, at least, has seen the Northen Light.

It now looks like the same product, not a separate dashboard. Pairing is one tap and zero typing: the generated WebUI password is now copyable, and the QR code carries the credentials — scanning it from your phone logs straight in (no typing the IP or password), then drops the credentials from the address bar. Search Two new providers: RuTor (CIS sources, no login, via a public TorAPI relay) and Torrents-CSV. Results are sorted by seeders (healthiest first), and each search now times out after 15 s so one dead provider can't hang the UI. Files & trackers Per-file priority is back: right-click a file in the detail panel to set Skip / Low / Normal / High. Rename an individual file inside a torrent (double-click or the file menu), separate from renaming the torrent. Remove a tracker from a torrent (the ✕ on a tracker row); adding was already there. Smart Paste on Ctrl+V — paste a magnet, a 40-char info-hash, or a .torrent URL straight from the clipboard and it's added immediately (text fields still paste text normally). Covers & titles Anime fansub naming ([Group] Title - NN) now resolves to the right show. Audio channel layouts in titles (DDP5.1, 7.1, …) are stripped so they don't pollute cover matching. Under the hood The legacy QWidget interface is gone. QML had been the only UI since 3.0.0 (reachable old code lived behind a hidden --legacy flag); with parity confirmed, the entire QWidget layer — main window, every dialog, the theme manager — was removed (~13,400 lines). The four restored actions above were features that backend already supported but the QML port had never wired. macOS: the WebUI password hash moved out of the keychain into app settings, so launching the app no longer pops a login-keychain password prompt on unsigned builds. The actual password still lives in the keychain. Cleanup: ~400 orphaned translation strings and a batch of dead code removed; internal duplication collapsed; an ARCHITECTURE.md added for contributors. Unit / security / memory tests and the ASan/UBSan/TSan sanitizers stay green.
