Canadians don't shop online

Recommended Posts

Actually, i'm quite the opposite. While sometimes it is a pain waiting, I order pretty much all of my computer parts online. I also save quite a bit using online retailers vs. brick and mortar stores even with tax and shipping. I also agree with the article, all the big stores offer online shopping but why such a small amount of items?? Especially amazon.ca, why would I order there? Their selection sucks and the prices aren't that great either.

This is what i do :) i look online for something i want and write the price down, go in to town and see if its anywhere there, if its there and cheaper i get it in the stores, if not then i turn to online shopping :)

I just ordered something online the other day. It was more expensive than the store (since all items were in-store prices plus I had to pay $21 to non-expedited shipping).

They phoned me with an automated message that went too quickly for my wife to write down correctly. The automated message promised an email with the same information. It never arrived.

I emailed support myself to inquire and they said that everything was fine with my order. I replied to their reply and mentioned the telephone call and they said not to worry.

Then I checked online order status and it said my order would be automatically cancelled unless I contacted support. I cut and pasted this warning into yet another email and was told that I needed to telephone support. I called and waited on hold. Finally I confirmed my name. address, telephone number, email and postal code (they were all correct) and they confirmed the order.

According to the online order status screen, all four of my items are in stock. The operator told me to expect delivery in five days. Granted, I didn't pay extra for expedited shipment (which probably only works out to 1 day less travel time than standard).

How again is this cheaper or easier than going into the store? (ironically, I can walk there)

It depends where you purchase from. I've never had such an experience myself, and I purchase quite a lot of stuff online. They could be very new at the whole web order stuff and might still be working out the kinks... You never know. But don't lose faith, honestly, because you can generally get excellent service and prices from online stores.

Just a piece of advice for anybody that is a bit hesitant of online orders. Check out Reseller Ratings for reviews for almost any site you may be thinking about purchasing from. It'll give you a good idea of what to expect from the site. I highly recommend it.

I dont order from the states unless a friend is been the middle man. Reason why is the middle man can send it the right way without getting nailed with extra charges. For example the last shipment of anime I got out of TRSI was heavily charged customs and duty fees on a 28 dollar order. Package arrives gotta pay $17 extra.

None the less I've ordered from this exact same place many times before. What set me off was the delivery method. Before it was snail mail Deutche post. That time it was Air mail sent as there new shipping way to canada. I took another gamble a month down the road on a $175 order. Didnt turn out too well.

Now I get my pals to order for me when specials on box sets arrive from TRSI. I'll pay the extra from dvdpacific or dvddeepdiscount.

Same goes on any other item.

BestBuy isn't exactly new nor is it small.

    • I recommend checking to see if your UEFI/Bios is up to date.  It took me a while to find the product / support download page. https://test.colorful.cn/en/home/product?mid=84&id=937 Bios Update Guide - https://endownload.colorful.cn/EnDownload/MotherBroard/2022/BIOS update guide/BIOS update guide.pdf
    • Calendar management with the new Outlook is horrendous! Things I can do in one or two clicks in classic take 4-5 in the new version. Sometimes I can't even find the same options I had in classic.
    • 10 games join Xbox Free Play Days this weekend by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Another Free Play Days offer has just landed, and this one is a unique one. On top of offering 10 games to jump into for Xbox players, all the titles are from a single publisher: No More Robots. The promotion has games like Little Rocket Lab, Spirittea, Descenders Next, Let's Build a Zoo, and much more. Almost every game in the selection does need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential subscription, so keep this in mind when browsing. Many of the titles are Xbox Play Anywhere titles though, so both Xbox console and PC players can jump in. Here's how the announcement blog post described some of the available titles: There is one game that's available to all Xbox players without the need for any subscriptions, which is Descenders. Here are the announced games and the platforms they are available to play on: Little Rocket Lab (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Spirittea (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Soccer Story (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Descenders Next (Game Preview) (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Let's Build a Zoo (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Hypnospace Outlaw (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Nowhere Prophet (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Family Man (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) Descenders (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) To easily find the titles on Xbox consoles, first head to the Store, then in the sidebar, find the Home section. In there, open the Subscriptions tab. The Free Play Days collection will show up in this area. This week's Free Play Days promotions will end on Sunday, June 7, at 11:59 pm PT.
    • It STILL has horrid theme support. Hard to look at for me. The white is too bright, and the black too dark. I'm using classic outlook for the Dark Grey theme. It's just right for me.
