Agreed, although I am looking around for a freeware alternative that is just as good.

Acronis True Image is awesome, but I really do like the new Windows Backup app in Windows Vista. If you need something that doesn't have a lot of features, but is still pretty powerful, and you don't want to spend a lot of money, I'd recommend Windows Backup if you have Windows Vista.

My friend introduced me to Acronis True Image Home Edition and it saved my system several times. It would have been a godsend for me during the other several hundreds of times over the past few years when I wasn't as experienced nor knowledgeable as I am now. that's life, though. You live and learn. Well, hopefully you learn...

SyncBackSE doesn't seem to be on the list, I use this all the time for incremental backups and folder synchronisation. Has saved me a couple of times now for getting back stuff I have lost.

I use Norton Ghost and has no big problem with it. But wow, the amount of support for Acronis make me want to look at that software.

Just a note about DeltaCopy, not saying it's a challenger to the best, but of interest.

DeltaCopy is a "Windows Friendly" wrapper around the Rsync program, currently maintained by Wayne Davison. "rsync" is primarily designed for Unix/Linux/BSD systems.

I like Acronis products. I use Disk Director for partitioning. I've never used True Image, though. Ghost is really starting to annoy me. I wonder what Ghost 12 will be like, though.

I've never had a "reformat problem" so I just backup the registry and for that I use the built-in Registry Editor...
