Question

A fresh "Best Firewall" poll for 2007. Please use this as a reference when researching Firewall utilities. As time goes on, the poll can be updated to add further options.

Due to limitations of IPB - this will be seen as 3 polls. Select the Firewall program you wish to vote for, and choose N/A in the other polls.

Happy voting!

Outpost Pro ... Looks quite good and I see it gets good marks on testing, but some people report browser slowdown and that it's almost "too secure" ..

Anyone here experience browser slowdown issues with Outpost Pro ? Does it lag your pc as much as ZA Pro ?, Any other drawbacks to look out for ?

Ive tried Outpost Pro before COMODO 3.....and i couldnt stand the slowdowns....it was lagging ALOT, uninstalled after a few mins.

Tested some different configs, but no luck.

I have a Core 2 Duo with 1GB RAM.

Ill keep COMODO 3 with my Vista Ultimate machine, it seems the best choice for me now.

Outpost is a joke............it blocks everything. Browsing slowed to dial up speeds. I tried Comodo 3.0 and it still needs work. Too many settings and that pending file thing is annoying. Went back to ZAAS which I have free when patch Tuesday offered it.

The beta version had some bugs, but it seems to me that the final version its ok.

I agree with you with the "too many settings", but this is a good thing for those who want to go deep into the firewall configs.

Most of the time you can use the default settings and add advanced rules with time.

Ok after hearing all ther hype about Online Armor I thought I would give it a try. Wow. I am impressed. Very Small foot print. Doesnt bug you. Works with all games and unlike Comodo or ZA it wont lock up your games. The thing about is thats its free. Was the best leak tester also.
