I feel like I'm getting closer....

Here's an image of the doorway that had been covered up by the bulletin board.

Yep, I found that one too (as well as the door BEFORE it was covered up). It was an MIT hack in 1990.

But that raises another question. If she had a GPA of 3.1416... how could she possibly have studied at MIT?

I've been looking for students with GPAs of 3.1416... and I came across a frat: Phi Delta Theta. They have an average GPA of 3.1416, and they are located at the University of Kentucky. Remember she said she "laid down low" at some college?

My opinion: Week 1 was time-themed. 5 watches are put into the box--the number 5 motif running through the game probably has to do with the 5 versions of Vista being released. Week 2 was Magic-themed; the second set of things we see in the video is magician's clothing. The chocolates are the third. No doubt Loki will be eating chocolates in the third week's videos and the next week's puzzles will have to do with myths, legends, and lore. Remember also that at the end of Week 1's video, she is holding a pocketwatch on a chain. SO, in my opinion, those items in the Challenge video are just the themes for each week (making next week "delicious" :p --just wait and see if she doesn't say something like that!) and nothing more.

Also, we have the white boxes, which are a puzzle within a puzzle and so constitute a Meta Puzzle already. It would stand to reason that Microsoft would want to mainstream that just as they have the Vanishing Point game. I'm going to focus on those picture pieces and see what I can find out about the pictures they make; that seems to me the best use of time....

If I've sawed Loki in half, does that mean I get to keep her lower part to play with?

You are wayyyy behind. We've already pieced together the 18 puzzle pieces to form an incomplete coat of arms, with a grapnel and 6 feathers. There's even been some analyses of the coat of arms, and searches for it (which yielded nothing). We're waiting for a motto or additional clue of some sort on the remaining 18 puzzle pieces.

Also, we've figured out that the 3rd puzzle box will be history related, since each box so far has been one of her 4 major fields of study (Time>Physics, Magic >Performing Arts, History>TBD, and the 4th has been speculated to be Folklore).

You are wayyyy behind.....

Not behind, just catching people up and keeping focus on the puzzles. There seemed to be alot of speculation about the contents of the videos, which just don't seem (to me) to have much to do with the puzzles we've had to solve, and I didn't want a bunch of people out there frustrating themselves trying to find clues to the Meta Puzzle from the videos.

Sometimes what seems obvious to one person isn't to another; it's always good to share and summarize to keep everyone current. Somebody has to do it...

Right, agreed. But she still releases vital clues about herself in her videos (which may prove to be useful for the Meta Puzzle).

On top of that, we have nothing to do for the next 6 days  so speculation it is.

On the page I discovered last night, http://www.lokivanishes.com/ not only do the numbers change, but also the colors in the bar-codes above the numbers.

The numbers or symbols relate directly to the colored bars above them, always coming up the same.

Algorithm, pgp encryption, hit counter.... several ways to go on this one.

Guys, I think you're overanalysing the Chocolate Deity ad. Because if you know anything about Norse mythology, you'll know that Loki is a god known for his trickery and fraud (thanks, Matantei Loki Ragnarok :)).

Loki bears many names : Lie-Smith, Sly-God, Shape-Changer, Sly-One, Lopt, Sky Traveller, Sky Walker and Loftur among others.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loki

Actually Loki is NOT a god. As I stated in the original thread.

From the Wiki:

"Loki Laufeyjarson is the mythical being of mischief in Norse mythology, a son of the giants F?rbauti and Laufey, and foster-brother of Odin. He is described as the "contriver of all fraud". He mixed freely with the gods for a long time, even becoming Odin's blood brother. Despite much research, "the figure of Loki remains obscure; there is no trace of a cult, and the name does not appear in place-names"[1]. In mythological terms, Loki is not a god, as he has no cult or followers (no evidence has ever been found or even referenced such), rather he is a mythological or mythical being"

Just to set the record straight.

After log in/out, refresh so many time and also tried new browser. Only white box in the "posters" remains even after clicking several times. For some reason that perticular white box shows up at the same place. So that put me in 17 and could not get 18th box. Please help.

yea, a lot of people seem to be having problems with registering the "posters" box (like me). Just keep trying, it'll get through eventually =).

We seem to have determined that the data concerning the boxes we have clicked on is stored on our computers.......so whose to say that we couldn't find where this data is stored and change it. Therefore "upping" our count to 32 and solving the meta puzzle, there don't seem to be any rules to this game so why wouldn't it work? :shiftyninja:

EDIT: Also fixing the problem for those who are having trouble with the "counter" not going up/going down.

I have had the same problem a few times.... I figured out something that might help...

Go to the puzzle "HEADLINER" in the 2nd box and see if the WHITE BOX is there also... if it is.. click it.. the one in the brick.. lower left..

If you have 17 out of 18 and the posters one keeps showing up.. this may fix it...

My puzzle piece count shows 18 out of 36 now like it should.. even though the POSTERS box is still showing up..

You may also want to go back and see if any of the other boxes have reappeared.. I did that and it worked..

Yea, that might work. If you know how to edit cookies.

I also found this to be a funny coincidence..

If you notice that the last puzzle is titled "people disappear"... I did a search with Ask.com for those two words.. and this came up towards the top:

http://www.skeptictank.org/hs/vanish.htm

lol... Coincidence that the name of the article is the same as the game???

It now looks like the same product, not a separate dashboard. Pairing is one tap and zero typing: the generated WebUI password is now copyable, and the QR code carries the credentials — scanning it from your phone logs straight in (no typing the IP or password), then drops the credentials from the address bar. Search Two new providers: RuTor (CIS sources, no login, via a public TorAPI relay) and Torrents-CSV. Results are sorted by seeders (healthiest first), and each search now times out after 15 s so one dead provider can't hang the UI. Files & trackers Per-file priority is back: right-click a file in the detail panel to set Skip / Low / Normal / High. Rename an individual file inside a torrent (double-click or the file menu), separate from renaming the torrent. Remove a tracker from a torrent (the ✕ on a tracker row); adding was already there. Smart Paste on Ctrl+V — paste a magnet, a 40-char info-hash, or a .torrent URL straight from the clipboard and it's added immediately (text fields still paste text normally). Covers & titles Anime fansub naming ([Group] Title - NN) now resolves to the right show. Audio channel layouts in titles (DDP5.1, 7.1, …) are stripped so they don't pollute cover matching. Under the hood The legacy QWidget interface is gone. QML had been the only UI since 3.0.0 (reachable old code lived behind a hidden --legacy flag); with parity confirmed, the entire QWidget layer — main window, every dialog, the theme manager — was removed (~13,400 lines). The four restored actions above were features that backend already supported but the QML port had never wired. macOS: the WebUI password hash moved out of the keychain into app settings, so launching the app no longer pops a login-keychain password prompt on unsigned builds. The actual password still lives in the keychain. Cleanup: ~400 orphaned translation strings and a batch of dead code removed; internal duplication collapsed; an ARCHITECTURE.md added for contributors. Unit / security / memory tests and the ASan/UBSan/TSan sanitizers stay green.
