Hmmm. Not quite what I had in mind. Try harder - then listen closely.

she also apears to change hight throout the show, and here glasses, they are tinted at the start and then clear than tinted than clear, you can see a reflection in one of the i will upload it when i get home as i am at work

As soon as she stops talking there is no noise whatsoever, I opened it in Audition, and the waveform is completely flat once she's finished speaking. If you're hearing white noise, then theres some interference getting into your speakers.

Poster's White Box (2nd Puzzle Box)

Anybody figure out a sure way to clear this one.

I have tried IE6, IE7, and Firefox. All found it and click it but do not make it disappear or cause it to count. I have cleared cache, used a couple of different machines and so on.

Affraid i have not had this issue mate.

I can't believe people are still reading into this very obvious clue. When the "puzzle" has already been solved, there's no real reason to keep digging.

The entire e-mail was telling you that you found her, and at the right place, but not the right WAY. Try harder means, "Yes, this is mean, but you need to find another way to get to me", and "listen closely" was the clue telling you to do it by phone.

Aside from the pre-game (which still had very obvious answers because the cipher keys were given out), name me one puzzle that's had mulitple answers. It's a path that we're on, and we're just picking up the signals and following it. There's really no reason to keep delving into the past when there's plenty more to do soon.

Yep got the exact same result. No extra noise at the end, only the flashing words as per the last video.

I have a feeling there is something in there that we are overlooking though. Not sure what, but i do think that her comment on, 'giving the watch back' at the end of the video may mean something.

That's the thing...although the 2nd box is done, we don't know what may be next. It could just be box #3, but we don't know. After all, there was the whole "find me" thing with the emails and phone calls last week, along with the Loki/Lorelei/Loreley speculation left hanging in the wind after her phone message about the murmuring rock project being on hold indefinately.

What is next? We don't know. But if there is something to find, our seemingly random speculations in this forum may just do it. After all, think how random the FILE pre-game entry was...finding the wave pattern? Plus, now that we know that there are 36 white boxes, there is obviously speculation towards that end (as we have half of them!). Is it a pattern that means something, or is there a deeper meaning to the parts of the whole? And what the heck is up with the glasses lowering once every video? And why would there be a seemingly crappy image loki.jpg to be found? (Sure they would have had a better picture than that one with all of the lines!).

Sure, we may be spinning our wheels waiting, but as we wait, who is to say that there isn't more to look for?

Just my 2 cents.

Just a side rant to everyone...

Please, every once and a while there is an argument of who found or noticed what first (such as with the magicians' names in the Postcards puzzle). When you have hundreds of people solving these puzzles at once, you will have people independently coming up with the same answers. Some of these will be ideas towards the answer, correct or not, and as such, some people might keep them private until they know that they are right, and only post after that point.

It does us no good to squabble over particulars. We are working together, whether the game intended that or not, towards a common goal. In the end, 42Entertainment/Microsoft/AMD/Loki will have to figure out how to award the prizes. In the meantime, lets play nicely together and use this forum accordingly. If that is not how you work, then I would suggest working alone.

Good luck everyone, and I must say that I am enjoying working with you all wholeheartedly. You are a great group of people, very intelligent, and have made this is a boatload of fun!

Well said :)

just thought I would fill you all in on a little idea i've been talking about in the uf irc.

I believe the events will follow the 4 elements, water, wind, fire and earth.

Box 1: Water

Box 2: Wind/Air

Box 3: Earth?

Box 4: Fire? Set at an old gasworks with plenty of space for a fire/fireworks display

If that's true then I want to see some crop circles next! Come on, you can't deny that it would be totally awesome.

OK as promised in a previous post, here are some technical details about the game and additional digging ...

Home page, authentication, scripts, game data, and event images and videos are all served by

www.vanishingpointgame.com (207.97.210.188), that particular IP address belongs to the same

IP address block as the IP address for 42 Entertainment Website (207.97.210.187), both sites are hosted by

Rackspace.

All flash content is served by assets.vanishingpointgame.com, the IP address that shows here is 70.247.31.10,

but it may be different based on your location since this "host name" is actually served by akamai's

edgesuite content distribution network.

The game is a interesting combination of technologies, HTML, XML, SOAP, Flash and different scripts in javascript,

asp and vbscript.

Each week there is one particular javascript (config.js) that changes, here is an excerpt of some of its contents

for week 1 and week 2:

Week 1 config.js (partial content):

var weekparam = 'weekparam=1';

var weekdir = 'weekdir=time';

var unlocked = 'unlocked=true';

var singapore = 'singapore=true';

Week 2 config.js (partial content):

var weekdir = 'weekdir=time&week2dir=magic';

var unlocked = 'unlocked=true&unlocked2=true';

var singapore = 'singapore=true';

var eventArgs = 'caEvent=on&txEvent=off&sydEvent=on&flEvent=on&azEvent=on';

var changedLocations = 'caLoc=San Diego&txLoc=Dallas&sydLoc=Melborne&flLoc=Talahassee&azLoc=Tempe';

var changedCoords = 'flCoordsTop=99:99\' 99.99%22 E&flCoordsBtm=88:88\' 88.88%22 S' +

I'm not 100% sure yet but user and game data seems to be passed in XML by two ASP.NET Web Handlers,

UserHandler and PuzzleHandler.

I didn't spend much time analyzing the flash files, I may be wrong but I don't believe that there is anything

of useful value in the files.

In general I tend to believe that they didn't intend to hide any clues within the game code or content, and

going one step further trying to crack it will be considered as tampering and against the game rules

with a chance to get sued by msft.

I did check other leads, like lokivanishes.com, etc., I don't believe that they are part or directly connected to the

actual game, so I'd suggest don't waste your time calling the poor guide in NZ.

But there is a particular lead I found interesting while looking at vanishingpoint.com (the domain registration is

not recent and ironically the admin contact email is provided by Apple :-) ), if you get on that page it makes a

reference to "David Reed", and voila !!! look at one of the search results from google:

http://www.media.mit.edu/people/bio_dpreed.html

MIT (remember the prank)? Viral Communications Group ? Coincidence ? probably ... who knows

BTW I sent an email to the folks at vanishingpoint.com asking if they have any connection with the game.

I'll let you know what response I get, if any.

Cheers

This has nothing to do with the game... but I thought it was interesting... :whistle:

I cannot explain the sadness

That's fallen on my breast.

An old, old fable haunts me,

And will not let me rest.

The air grows cool in the twilight,

And softly the Rhine flows on;

The peak of a mountain sparkles

Beneath the setting sun.

More lovely than a vision,

A girl sits high up there;

Her golden jewelry glistens,

She combs her golden hair.

With a comb of gold she combs it,

And sings an evensong;

The wonderful melody reaches

A boat, as it sails along.

The boatman hears, with an anguish

More wild than was ever known;

He's blind to the rocks around him;

His eyes are for her alone.

--At last the waves devoured

The boat, and the boatman's cry;

And this she did with her singing,

The golden Lorelei.

ok Right after she says wow, (noise) but can you top that is i hire you? listen, it is there i just can not make out what the heck it is.

and with her glasses is seems as thought she might have transition lenses on when sh tilts her head and you can see the green glare on them they seem to get darker?

if you listen you can hear the sound that i am referring to. the only reason i heard it was because i had head phones on.

On first look i think u might be on to something!

Edit: Maybe not, i think it might have been the tele in the next room

i'm pretty sure the london event is going to involve the portrait gallery, but i can't think of anything to do with earth and the portrait gallery... for all you non-londoners, the national portrait gallery is on trafalgar square, and theres an image of it in the background of the 3rd puzzle box (top right picture).

so far the pictures are pointing to the place where the event is happening (the fountains and the sky) so i'll head down there on friday night to see if anythings going on. i can't think of anything that hasn't been done before at the national portrait gallery that'd be exciting though...

Hello, suspiciously new neowinian(?)(how can i talk), we have seen this poem before and we know that there is some link (even if irrevalent), but many people have already been through this poem if you look back..

Poster's White Box (2nd Puzzle Box)

Anybody figure out a sure way to clear this one.

I have tried IE6, IE7, and Firefox. All found it and click it but do not make it disappear or cause it to count. I have cleared cache, used a couple of different machines and so on.

could it be possible that there is a bug in the flash for that puzzle (posters) and that it simply does not go away and that you have already clicked on it and therefore your current count reflects the correct number of white boxes found and that you really need to do is look in a different puzzle for one of the white boxes?

I collected all 18 which using my work machine....had a harddrive crash and my IT group replaced my entire machine....when I got my new machine I logged in and all 18 were still reflected in the count. I think you will click on the white box in posters forever and it will never increase your count because...you have already clicked that one.

it's just a thought...but are you sure it is the only one you need?

I still can't get the posters one either. I've double checked the rest already.

Do you have the latest version of flash? (Flash 9)

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/do...=ShockwaveFlash

(just in case you don't)

make sure you've cleared your cache and tried more than one browser/system and restarted the one your using

For anyone that cares (as the puzzle has been solved), I believe the "N" in "COINS" from the Postcards puzzle if for NICOL. Charles Nicol performed a trick called "The Throne of Mystery" and the picture in the link I found shows a "lady" in a chair.

Have a look. I know it is solved but I was really curious about the "N" and since there are no more puzzles for a bit....I figured...WHY NOT?

I got visuals of all the places (with the exception of Singapore since it's TBD) and with the exception of Canada, they seem to all be courtyards. Maybe it has something to do with being up high and looking down into the courtyards. (which actually would support the whole elemental thing). It's just a thought...

I double checked but it won't hurt to triple check. I will let the group know if I have any luck.

All right, I finally got it. Here is how.

Go to dominoes. Click until you get the white box. Not sure why it appeared but it did. I know I had this one and the next one.

Go to Mind Reader. Click the white box there. It wasn't there until the domino one showed up.

The go to posters and get that one.

Yes I check clearingplate each time. Not sure why it worked but that is what did it for me.

Might want to see what I did also and see if that helps. I went through the domino one about four times before it finally appeared.

    • State of Decay 3 is out in 2027, reveals Plague Nests with new co-op gameplay trailer by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe A few months ago, Undead Labs broke its silence about the third entry in the State of Decay series since its announcement in 2020. Today, the studio had a brand-new trailer to reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase, finally giving players a look at the Unreal Engine 5-powered title. A broad 2027 release window is now attached to State of Decay 3 too. The studio confirmed that every scene seen in the gameplay trailer (except for the studio logo) released today is from the game with no cinematic footage. "The quality bar of the moment-to-moment experience is higher than anything we’ve achieved in Undead Labs’ history," says the studio. "State of Decay 3 is being built in Unreal Engine 5, and we’re creating better quality versions of what makes our game the survival sandbox it is, and the combat experience is really, really important to us, and I think you can see it coming through in this trailer." One new aspect of this upcoming entry is the Plague Nests. These are supposed to be dynamic, dungeon‑like enemy hubs with varied “personas” that change tactics each time one appears on a map. These areas will have the best loot in the game for players brave enough to tackle them. The combat system is being overhauled too, letting players do quick and power attacks depending on the situation. This isn't just on the player's side though, as zombies themselves now have multiple new types of behaviors depending on how fresh or decayed they are. "All of these play very differently, especially as you start getting outnumbered or when you’re making noise and running around and trying to save your rear end or the rear end of your friend next to you," adds the developer. Of course, settlement building and community management are massive parts of this third entry too. These are being further expanded with the cooperative focus, giving players much more freedom for playing together than in State of Decay 2. Players will even be able to split up and build settlements in different areas of the same map with different goals. Undead Labs confirmed that playtests are already ongoing for the title, and interested players can sign up to participate by heading over here once more slots open up ahead of the full release. State of Decay 3 is coming out on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Game Pass sometime in 2027.
    • Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations expansion gives the Slayer a brutal Chain Spear by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Last year, id Software released Doom: The Dark Ages as a prequel to its reboot series, offering a look at the legendary Slayer character during an ancient war between Hell and Heaven. Today, at the Xbox Games Showcase, id Software returned with a new announcement that unveiled Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations as its first story expansion. The expansion will see the Slayer being betrayed and cast into a "merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths." Somehow, there is one ally in all this chaos seemingly attempting to help our protagonist escape his fate. Players will be ascending this prison and fighting plenty of new demons and abominations as they work to free the Slayer's followers. One new aspect of the expansion will be the Chain Spear. This new weapon is described by the studio as a "uniquely satisfying combat system that rewards mastery with a potent combination of power and mobility." Check out the trailer below to see the new weapon in action, where the Slayer is seen using it to even pin enemies to walls. id Software is also preparing a free update to all owners of Doom: The Dark Ages that will land alongside the new paid expansion. Dubbed the Ripatorium 3.0 update, this will add more customization options, an improved pass code generation system, and preset options for players diving into the game's arena challenge mode. Expansion buyers will also receive additional maps, demons, and new weapons to use in this mode in addition to the story levels. Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations expansion is out on July 7 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 with a $19.99 price tag. Those who own the Premium Edition or the Collector's Bundle will receive the expansion for no extra cost as well.
    • Hyped for this. Replayed the remasters recently and they're so well done, and Crash 4 was great too. I trust this team to deliver.
    • Ninja Theory's new Hellblade game is action-focused and set in Purgatory by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Ninja Thery has been building its award-winning Hellblade series since 2017, delivering Senua's Sacrifice and Senua's Saga since then. Today at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, the studio had a brand-new installment announcement featuring Senua again, but this time, she is in a version of purgatory, and the focus is on the action. Simply named Senua, this new entry is described as a "full-on action-adventure" experience, delivering an expanded focus on combat, puzzle-solving, and freedom of exploration. The developer says that it is keeping the same high production values and storytelling features of the previous games while giving what players have been asking for in the gameplay department. The entirety of Ninja Theory is now working on Senua, giving the project much more manpower than ever before, while also letting the team draw on its action roots from Devil May Cry and prior titles. However, the studio also confirmed that its previously announced Project Mara horror experience is no longer in development. Alongside snappier traversal moves, Senua will be able to take stealth and direct combat routes. She has access to her own sword, plus any enemy weapons as well, with dual wielding also being an option for most dropped melee swords, axes, and other weapons. Outside of melee combat, Senua will be able to use special abilities that let her alter the reality around her. The world is said to be about twice the size of Hellblade 2. While this won't be an open-world experience, the linear story will let players explore their surroundings further than before. The story of Senua will be set after the events of previous Hellblade titles, with our protagonist being stuck in her own version of Purgatory. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well. "She’s trapped between life and death on a quest to reach the afterlife and be reunited with the ones that she’s loved and lost," adds the studio. "Her belief is that by healing the wounds of her life, she can find the peace that is the key that unlocks the gate to the afterlife." Senua is releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2027.
