[WIP] Customizing the Vista Orb at Startup. (authui.dll)

Hey all,

I have recently been trying to customize my Vista RTM to be more Longhornesque.

I have been fooling around with authui.dll, the Vista Orb animation that plays at startup.

I have found that it is not a movie, but rather four PNGs, played in rapid succession.

I have been working on a Longhorn replacement for the Vista Orb.

Attached is a screenshot of one of the four PNGs I created.

When I replaced the resources via PE Explorer and moved my modified authui.dll using my XP partition (unmodifiable in Vista, don't try, I learned the hard way...), my Vista wouldn't boot.

I am still looking for a solution.

I welcome your comments on the image.

I have grabbed middle of your image to have 300x300 .png, and after that successfuly changed authui.dll.

P.S. I used Resource Tuner
