OMH: Never knew about this <snipped> character.

I just remember the Pink Panther, his weird threads, how he would just go straight on the attack, and what a lil kid he is.

And then the fun and games a bunch of us had afterwards with our little sigs - oh funny days!

Hehe, oh yeah i almost forgot about him. Wonder what he is doing now... I wonder if he even still goes to Neowin under a different name? :shiftyninja:

The funniest thing has to be the reply to a thread...look in my sig..its the one about using boiling butter for lube.

The most annoying thing here are certain bungholes.. . you know who you are... i believe its called small man syndrome.

Wow, I'm impressed. You don't even know this person, there's no way you even know the whole story, and you're kicking a banned person while they're down with no way to defend themselves. Good job assuming you know what his situation was. I don't know him either, but that's crossing a line. I don't care that this is your site and you're the admin, and this member is a banned one not here any more, that's not the point. What you said about him is so unacceptable and unprofessional as an administrator. This is not an example you should be setting for your other members.

I am not a kiss-up here (far from it), but if you don't like how the owner of the site does something, um, well, not really much you can do is there!

Oh, so just because he's staff he has every right to bend/break his own rules and people MUST respect him? I believe respect is earned and not given. I wouldn't care if he was God or Jesus or the president themselves. I may be out of line, but he was too. No, I don't know the story with the member he brings up, but neither does he. He doesn't know him either and that doesn't make it right for him to play guessing games.

Not really a problem, per se, just find it funny he'd do a thing like that when he doesn't even know the person (yea, yea, I don't either). Oh well. I guess that's what makes the internet fun, isn't it? Hiding behind anonymity, eh?

Well from what he said, those accusations are an accepted fact on Neowin. I doubt he'd say it unless he knew that other members would remember and back up those claims. I doubt you'd have a clue. He obviously does because he was there when whatever threads/PMs happened.

So umm, I can't see any rules broken by his post, can anyone else?

Oh, and I wouldn't expect you to respect or be respected by anyone here yet, but for long standing members it's a bit different.

Back on topic....some of the mods here are funny/weird/sad but I can't think of much else.

If this issue causes you sleepless nights i suggest you PM' him. Im sure he will be happy to fill you in on what ever the reasoning behind any actions he has had on the subject.

Apart from the fact that staff actions are not to be questioned on the boards, not because its a dictatorship, but because if every one that had a problem with a staff action or choice the site would become less of a news and tec site and more of a whingers forum, so you are always entitled to question any issue and or action, but by pm only..

Hope you understand.

How can you claim Neobond doesn't know all about <snipped>? You have no basis for making that claim! I am not claiming he does, but he shows a knowledge of him, that I have no reason to question.

And do we have to do as Neobond says? Not, not in the least - we are free to leave HIS site at any time we please.

On topic: Persephone is weird. And she smells of gerbils! But I love her all the same ;)

No, that's just it. There is no fact or truth in it. It's all assumptions unless the aforementioned member was able to confirm or deny the allegations. Staff members aren't always right in everything either. Let's just move along now.

arent you assuming that neobond doesnt know this guy personally? didnt you assume that neobond doesnt know any of these statements as a fact? im not saying your wrong but im just pointing out the fact that you made this statement on assumptions of your own mate... for all you know these two could be next door neighbours and from what ive heard anyway, i dont think this guy was very secretive about what neobond said about him in the first place!

LOL, you're okay, dude. From my research, the one guy lives in the USA, and Neobond lives in the UK? Across countries. Most likely that they don't know each other. Aye, maybe not secretive, but what if he was looking for advice on something, and someone wanted to be an arse and turn it around into something it isn't. I'm done with this now.

Anyway...

When I said accepted as fact, I mean as in that member alluded to such behaviour on this forum. But yeah arguing on the internet, can't be bothered.

Pink Panther - now he loved arguing on the internet lol. He behaved like he had an autistic spectrum disorder - I don't mean that in a flame bait/take the **** out of the handicapped way either.

Valve says that “starting with the SteamOS 3.8 release, you can put together your own Steam Machine using whatever PC parts you want.” SteamOS 3.8.10 launched last week with a slew of updates, including “improved compatibility with recent Intel and AMD platforms.” Alongside that improved compatibility, Valve is giving gamers the green light to install SteamOS on their own desktops.       I know an idiot at work who is "Director for innovation projects" and inevitably has been tasked with following up on this whole trend of "AI and its work applicability". He recently sent out a survey on the topic, for the workforce to disclose their usage and attitudes towards AI. The survey was badly, sloppily typed out, the questions and answers (when multiple choices) were loosely correlated and, all and all, it would already be miserable in the times of MS Office Autocorrect alone. Then, I had AI responding to it all (on the open-ended questions) with beautiful, to-the-point prose after I provided it with minor but proper guidance, taking me under 10 minutes. All this to say that I am sure that if AI comes to replace someone, it will still be me, and the other idiot will still stay.

      Call me when you can say, "Find all duplicate rows with duplicate email addresses and move the duplicate rows to a new sheet", and Copilot can execute that and not give you VBScript to write to do it. If anyone thinks AI isn't in its infancy and the bubble is about to burst, try to do anything meaningful in Excel with Copilot and you will realize AI hasn't even made it to kindergarten in most use cases yet.
