[NFL] Dallas Cowboys hire Wade Phillips as head coach

Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that Wade Phillips will be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, replacing Bill Parcells. Contract details still have to be worked out and an announcement could come as early as tomorrow.

Worst out of the 10 he interviewed. Unbelieveable.

My thoughts exactly. Even Jason Garrett would have been better in my opinion. I bet this is just a year or two thing and then Jason Garrett will have the job. That's why they went with this guy. But I sure hope he (Phillips) surprises me.

In head coaching stints with Denver (1993-94) and Buffalo (1998-2000), Phillips compiled a 45-38 record, including the playoffs, and led his teams to three wild-card berths
WOW! I had thought his HC career had been a complete failure. I guess he didn't do as bad as I had remembered. If I'm not mistaken that's better then the Parcells record with Dallas the last few years.
Parcells was 34-32 in Dallas, counting two playoff losses.

Maybe there is SOME hope?
