HDDVD and Bluray completely cracked?

Recommended Posts

All this could do is slow down the adoption of HD-DVD or Bluray. But it also prove that nothing is 100% secure and unbreakable.

Now Studios will be scared to publish movies on any medium. The fear of loosing money....

They need to come with a new medium that will ONLY be available for TV, with a special connector and protection. No way to connect it to any other device and to extract the information. And I bet that even this would be cracked given some time and effort.

Hypocrisy at its best. Neowin is allowing this post in BPN but when I posted my version of BackupHDDVD in the software branding section some mod deleted my thread and gave me a warring.

That mod must have been uneducated, as BackupHDDVD contains nothing that violates any rules or laws. It doesn't even provided a key like like program that are used for DVD backup which are posted regularly, so even the Blu-ray/HDDVD industry can't do much about it.

Exactly .. I am not going to say who that mod was but he definitely was a noob. Oh well .. now I am stuck with this warring that I don't deserve.

Btw .. as I see doom9 is being linked here anyway .. why not link it one more time http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=121042

I'm happy that this happened because now, I can watch HD movies without worrying about region protection and HDCP.

I have a recently bought Nvidia 7900GS that is NOT HDCP compliant, and I travel a lot and like to pick up movies when I find ones I want.

I buy movies legally because I believe that people who create the content deserve my money, but it ****es me off when they limit my playback.

What movie companies should realize is that they are forcing me to go through the ripping procedure just so that I can watch the movies that I bought.
