yeah i was hunting for video i thought i had it but it turned out to be that i slammmed my keyboard pretty hard

anyway, this episodic stuff i would believe you will download due to limitations of DVD9 and them filling it as much as they can but with ps3 i'm sure the episodic stuff will be added to the game as normal with blu-ray's disk size.

is there any word on multiplayer/online also ?

No, It's not because of Disk limitations I guarantee you they won't fill a DVD. The download content comes out in 2008, there won't be anything extra on a PS3 disc, that you won't find on a 360 disc

None because the playstation 3 has a very limited online network :p

I swear, from now on everytime I read someone talk about the limitations of DVD-9, I'm going to talk about their limited network play.

GameInformer details on GTA4

# Niko Bellic is the main character.

# Multi-player will be included, but no details yet. It will not be MMO.

# The game has been in development since early 2004.

# Variations in the terrain cause the walking animation to change. The physics have also improved and character movements are more realistic.

# Liberty City is the only location in the game.

# The Xbox 360 version was the version shown to the magazine editors.

# There were no planes in the skies of the demo that the magazine editors saw, and it seems that there will not be airplanes in the game. Other forms of air travel should not be ruled out.

# The MetLife building now bears the name Getalife, the Statue of Liberty is now the Statue of Happiness, and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is called BOABO (Beneath the Offramp of the Algonquin Bridge Overpass).

# Dan Houser of Rockstar Games said that New York City "is an environment we felt had never been done to the level we were envisioning it in a video game. From looking at all of the locations, this was the one that really stood out to us, and really had that impact. It has all of these iconic things that you couldn't put into a game before."

# Within Grand Theft Auto IV, Rockstar North has recreated four of the five boroughs that make up New York City, as well as a section of New Jersey. In the GTA universe, Brooklyn has been transformed to Broker, Manhattan has mutated into Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, The Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey has become Alderney.

# It's a smaller geographical mass than San Andreas, but not an inch of this world is wasted or dedicated to vast stretches of country or desert. It's a tightly packed metropolis that captures the eye with its decades of world-class architecture, sun-blocking towers, and extraordinary walks of life.

# The city is brought to life with an amazing level of realism. Sunlight glistens beautifully off of glasswork, illuminates the intricate detailing of century old brick, and even reveals just how realistic an ordinary bag of trash can look. As the sun begins to set, the city takes on a whole different appearance. Buildings that were once eye-popping attractions slowly become ominous obelisks. As any New Yorker will tell you, there's a big difference between New York during the day and New York at night. Liberty City will perfectly capture that quality.

# Niko Bellic's home is in Eastern Europe, and he likely may never have traveled to Liberty City if it wasn't for his cousin Roman. With life not working out in the homeland, "Bellic turns up in Liberty City because he's been receiving e-mails from his cousin Roman, that read like: 'I live this amazing life, it's the American Dream come true. I have two women. I have four hot tubs. I have fifteen sports cars," Houser elaborates. "And [bellic] believes it." His bid to flee his past for what he thought would be the greener pastures of America couldn't be any further from the truth. Roman has been lying to him. He isn't rich. He isn't popular. And he's actually in a load of trouble. He lied to his cousin to hide his own failures in life.

# Roman, Niko's cousin, is the only person that he knows in America. He serves as one of his main friends, motivations, and connections at the start of the game. Unlike San Andreas, players won't get a chance to see Bellic in his homeland. You will see his life unfold from the moment he steps into Liberty City.

# Niko is a "tough character" while Roman is a "friendly buffoon."

# The story unfolds in a number of different ways. R* is giving people more freedom, more choice and more sense of control over their destiny - the structure of the storyline is quite different to previous games.

# The targeting system details have not been released.

"In terms of scale, this GTA experience shouldn't be much different than San Andreas'. The only noticeable difference is that players won't be able to pilot airplanes. "There are no planes, because it's just a city," adds Houser. "Apart from the fact that [the vehicles] are similar. We want it to feel realistic and gritty. [bellic] is not going to be riding a unicycle or rollerblading. We are giving choice and variety that feels right for the character."

That is an extract from the Game Informer magazine, which has been typed up by some kind soul for everyone else to read here.

I'm glad they didn't add planes. Having essentially a near-perfect representation of New York City and then to add in planes? That's way too far, even for GTA standards.

But I definitely can't wait to see more of this game, it seems like the tone of the game is going to change bigtime. More realism/freedom, so maybe you have a choice now if you want to be some murdering/car stealing/drug selling fellow, or someone who is actually a good human (granted I'm sure you'll still be killing lots of people even as a "good" guy lol).

Nice find!

Maybe I was the only one who liked to ride my bike around town....I will really miss that :/

didn't say no bikes ;)

We're not suddenly saying there are no motorbikes. we are keeping all of that stuff. It's the same range and diversity that we had, but to fit the character."

Hmm, how to interpret that? :s

and besides, how many bicycles do you see in New York? :p (assuming you meant bicycles and not motorbikes)

when they say planes, do you guys think they mean helecopters too? i hope not, i actually enjoyed helecopters more.

oh and i have a bad feeling that manhattan will be the size of southern staunton island (south of the big bridge to portland) and in the same location as it was in gta3. Thats the impression i got from the trailor.

I hope I'm wrong!!!

Helicopters were fun. I'm not too disappointed about the no planes, but it would be nice to have helicopters still.

    • No updated SSD capacity, no updated specs (not surprised tbf), just nostalgia baiting! Bring back the boot sequence and the UI as an easter egg!
    • Why? It will just cost so much more and make you PC poor and they become PC rich off your calamities! “Just because you can” isn’t a flex either!.
    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
    • Does it have couch co-op is the question I have here.
