I am doing a reinstall, and don't want Windows to overwrite my current D&S, Program Files and Windows dirs.
What I normally do is use a bootable linux CD (Damn Small Linux) to rename/move the folders so they will remain untouched. Of course you can't change these folders while Windows is running, thats why I need to do it in a bootable environment.
So I need a fast (DSL takes too long), GUI (preferrably), to rename like 3 folders. How hard can it be??
I have this on Win 10, right click on taskbar, select Toolbar, New toolbar, unlock the taskbar; type %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch; You'll get a quick launch visible at the left side.
I use for the recycle bin. No shortcuts on Desktop. BTW I use open shell, saves me a lot annoyance's
Feel welcome
PS I have no idee if this works on win 11; probably; Whatever, I'll stay on win10 till 2030, thanks to 0patch; only € 125
It basically was just a facelift with a few tweaks. Don't get me wrong, the tweaks were all good, but Vista was a massive effort over XP, Windows 7 was very minor in comparison.
After 4 years, windows 11 its still a mess, it did improve with the latest patch 24h2, but usability wise windows 10 its faster, less bugs, more stable and more productive. Things like context menu, start menu and taskbar are things that microsoft its "fixing" little by little, they added no combine option 22h2 but thats it, the start menu its getting better but again compared to 10 or 7 its just worse that like 8 we have to depend on a third party app like start11 or open shell. to have a usable start menu. more mouse movement and more click for one thing that it was 1 click before. thats why people is resistant to move to 11.
