eeeeep!!! Blackviper woo :) glad to see it's back in all it's glory (Y)

Eeek!

BlackViper lovers...

FYI, most of BV info, mainly on xp sp2 services, is completely wrong.

He basically tells people to shut down services because "they are bad..."

There are no logical reasons behind his claims, nor does he need to give them apparently.

Guess people really love to shut down (cripple) services just for the "fun" of it...

FYI,

You don't know what you're talking about!

Seems BV's got a big flock of followers nowdays...

Whenever I've used his guide, it has had explanations of what each service did and cautions about disabling it though, so I'm not sure where you got that from.

You are really talking out of your backside, what are you basing your assumptions on? His site does not pander to noobs!

I could not have stated this more equivocally!

Claims? These are fully fleshed out descriptions of every service. Its basically a guide to services. Its at the least a good place to find out exactly what each service does.

I don't know why this guy has so many fans! There's hundreds of other sites out there that do exactly the same tips ... Blackviper's certainly wasn't the first ...

I dont understand your response, who cares? How about providing some links to others you think are better...Im sure we'd all appreciate that no matter how much we like Bvipe's.

I was just checking a couple of old links and was really surprised this one was still there!!

http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/winxp_services/index.shtml ... (used to be '3dspotlight'), the other one from about the same time is dead though ... http://www.overclockersclub.com/windowsxpservices.shtml ... these may have been the first such guides, certainly the ones I used to use the most!

These were way back before SP1, of course a lot has changed since then ...

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
