Changelog:

# Buddy List Docking : The Docked Buddy List crashes while dragging to resize it when the OS fonts are set to large

# Buddy List Docking : The Vista Sidebar does not dock correctly if the Buddy List is already docked

# Buddy List Docking : Can only dock the Buddy List to the extreme left or right of a dual monitor setup

# Buddy List Docking : You are able to vertically resize the Buddy List while it is docked

# Setting away state to "Mobile" with an IM Forward capable user requires two attempts

* For some users, clicking the Sign In button on the Sign On screen has no effect. We have found this happens when your My Documents folder is either mapped to a removable or separate hard drive. To fix, re-map your My Documents folder to your main drive. Issue will be fixed it later

* [install]: Performing install / upgrade from AIM 6.0 to the latest Cheers 6.1.16.1 build results in 'The installer failed to copy some required files' error message in 'AOL Toolbar Install' screen

Note: Install is still successful

* AIM Phoneline: Unable to place second outgoing call

Workaround: Restart client

* AIM Phoneline: Unable to receive second incoming call [AIM Digits Free Service] Workaround: Restart client

* AIM Phoneline: DTMF buttons are not functional

* After setting a different Away Message as the Default, the previous Default is still used until you Apply the change twice

* Installer: Text on the Toolbar Install screen reads incorrectly as 'AOL Suite Preview'

* After choosing to install Toolbar during AIM installation, all installer UI disappears for a few seconds while Toolbar installer is downloading

* My Buddy Info: Insert Image dialog cannot be resized (so you can only see a small portion at a time of normal-sized images)

* Inserted images in Buddy Info causes AIM Today page contents to shift downward creating lots of blank space at the top of the page

# Changing Text Highlight color in Settings window does not reflect/applied to Settings and IM window

Workaround: Set text highlight via IM window format bar

# You need to scroll down Settings page to see the Styles tab

Can someone confirm that ad-hack works? The only version of Ad-hack I can find is 5.3 ...the guy's site appears to be down so I can't get 5.4 right now. Does anyone have a mirror by chance?

His new domain is http://www.aimadhack.net/. ;)

EDIT: Yes it is working for me.

re-map my documents folder you say? just for AIM, thereby losing other program functionality.... I believe I will pass on this build for those 3 bugs.

Smiley Showers still broken for me :/

I don't think I like the new Info dialog box though. I feel like the Updates pane takes up too much space, i think i liked it better on the bottom. Or maybe there can be some kind of Hover box that can be implemented only when changes have been made that goes away after a certain period of time after checking info.

Other than that, I like this release. Keep up the good work!

Did they fix the bug or annoying feature where AIM Radio constantly plays when you open the program? Like say it's minimized, then you bring it to the forefront and it plays. Is there an option I have to turn off to make it only play when I manually turn it on? That auto crap is annoying.

:| I hope they plan on using that buddy updates box for a lot more things if they make it take up so much room like that.

It's there for the user to take advantage of. For instance, when someone views my profile, they are presented with the latest updates from my MySpace and my own personal website via RSS:

untitledsm2.th.jpg

So I finally got my roommate to switch over from an old AIM 5.2 DeadAIM he was using to the new AIM 6. For some reason, whenever he tries to set an Alias for someone on his buddy list, it just doesn't work. The alias will remain in the Edit Buddy dialog box, but doesn't update on the buddy list. Is anyone else having this issue?

Also, a feature that he really liked in DeadAIM was that if he was away, and someone IMed him, it did not send his away message to the person. Is there any way to implement this feature in AIM 6, or could it possibly be added in the near future?

I finally got him to change, but he's frustrated with it already :)

Thanks

    • LibreWolf 151.0.3-1 by Razvan Serea LibreWolf is an independent “fork” of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community run successor to LibreFox. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. Independent Build — LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser. No phoning home — Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default. User settings updates Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions. Multi-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac/and soon Android) Community-Driven Dark theme (classic and advanced) LibreWolf privacy features: Delete cookies and website data on close. Include only privacy respecting search engines like DuckDuckGo and Searx. Include uBlockOrigin with custom default filter lists, and Tracking Protection in strict mode, to block trackers and ads. Strip tracking elements from URLs, both natively and through uBO. Enable dFPI, also known as Total Cookie Protection. Enable RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. Trim cross-origin referrers, so that they don't include the full URI. Disable link prefetching and speculative connections. Disable disk cache and clear temporary files on close. Disable form autofill. Disable search and form history...and more. • Unsurprisingly, there's what the law says and what the old white wealthy males legally enforce...

    • Gf needed a new Surface and was looking at a Surface Laptop because of the Snapdragon. Seeing as it was a two year old chip she just decided to get a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1 instead. Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
