BigBoy
and again almost impossible to install :( ATI's install routine really blows chunks I agree. :( What I usually do is extract it all, and then manually go and update the drivers in Device Manager. I am not interested into the whole ATI control panel crap as I am running this on my work machine too. I'll try this driver I guess... but every driver post RC2 totally sucked for me on Vista... perf using Aero was horrible. RC2 driver works great though :) I'll try this too... If you run the installer, you can tell it to just install the driver. Or simply extract the files and delete the CCC setup files. But, the installer is much better on Vista. gene1138
Does this release not apply to Radeon Mobility Products?! It won't let me install because it says I'm already up to date but why then does it let me download the newest package... Yep seems they don't. The install says it finds no valid components when installing on my Dell 1505 w/ an x1400. aggrophobik
Seems there will be no support for Mobility 9000 IGP. It's a shame, just bought the laptop not 2 yrs. ago, installed Vista, and no graphics support. /me ****es on Toshiba. It looked like it successfully installed but when I checked the driver version it was still the older 7.2 version. I did a complete uninstall of the previous 7.2 install. And then ran the 7.3 custom install and it came up that no compatible devices could be found. Had Vista scan for updated drivers in the 7.3 folder and found nothing. Had Vista scan the 7.2 folder and it found the driver and installed. Either ATI removed Mobility support or they goofed something up with the 7.3 release. Going back to XP. Driver performance during gaming is so much worse than running with XP. brand
Not me.Why ATI continue to fix bugs for Doom 3 ? :pinch: Who continue to play Doom 3 ? I would prefer have bugfixing for TDU, Virtua Tennis 3, etc....... I'm totally into a driver that supports the least amount. Catalyst 7.3 are released in all versions, on the ATI official site.- XP SP2 http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html - Vista 32 Bits http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32...on-vista32.html - Vista 64 Bits http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista64...on-vista64.html Release Note : https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2...ease_notes.html Why did you post this? I'm using the VGA drivers on Windows 3.11 (supports networking!!!!111 :woot: ) and they're working fine. Yea, took them long enough. I tested the drivers yesterday, works really good with most games. Stalker have some issues though, low performance. Other than that no problem at all. goatsniffer
Nah, just because I did an uptime of 50Days with my 7900GTO :rofl:Anyway, I'm not complaining about the numerous updates, I'm complaining because I always reinstall them but after though about it, maybe it was useless... Btw, I removed back to ATi because nVIDIA lost me. Notice also that I moved to nVIDIA last year because ATi drivers sucked, they got better but nVidia really sank with their new CP + Vista.... Well, any nVIDIA users understand me I think. This tread reminds me that I need to change my sig... The new CP is optional... Vista isn't nvidia's fault, it's yours because you bought it. Going back to XP. Driver performance during gaming is so much worse than running with XP. Vista = No Kernel Mode Drivers = Worse Performance Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/549691-ati-catalyst-73-release/page/2/#findComment-588434558 Share on other sites
