This summer I plan to do allot of backpacking [hiking + camping] and well I want to be able to take pictures of my adventures along with many of the beautiful things I will see. I need a small very portable camera. Also something sturdy and water proof. Cause its not gona be a walk in the park. I am not careless but i know it will end up taking a beating to some extent. Along with this I am a student with a very limited budget. So something cheap but sturdy and will take nice looking pictures.

i do quite alot of backpacking and my kodak z612 does a pretty good job. albiet it is not small but it is light and can fit in a fairly small case. its about the size of a dslr but does not need all of the lenses. out of curiosity, where are you going to be backpacking?

Really like that one but thats not in my budget atm. I am looking for more 200-300max CAD

I also gotta buy backpacking gear...

I may just have to get a cheaper one and be extra careful.
