gandolas
Hum... Did you tried to run AutoPatcher again? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/557773-ap-vista-problem-on-running/#findComment-588534117 Share on other sites
gurpal2000
Hum... Did you tried to run AutoPatcher again? Yes, I got the same problem. I'll try it on a new Vista install inside a VMWare session and see if it works. Likely it will, but still doesn't help me I guess! Thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/557773-ap-vista-problem-on-running/#findComment-588539427 Share on other sites
gandolas
Which version of the file autopatcher.exe do you have? I never got a error like that, and believe me, i tested it several times in VM machines... I'll release May's version today or tomorrow (need to upload it to the servers) and then you can test it again. Remember, you have to give Admin privileges to AutoPatcher. fixmypcmike
I just downloaded the May full version, same problem, running as Administrator, UAC off, DEP for Windows programs/services only. Also tried in Safe Mode, same thing. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/557773-ap-vista-problem-on-running/#findComment-588544107 Share on other sites

gandolas
It seems to be a 'COMCTL32.OCX' problem... Try this: Go to: C:\Program Files\AutoPatcher\tools, run 'AutoPatcher Module Editor.exe' and close it - next run autopatcher. If that doesn't help, copy comdlg32.ocx from the AutoPatcher \bin folder to c:\windows\system32 (overwrite existing file if there is one). coultone
I had the exact same problem: What AutoPatcher was trying to do It appears that the error occured while AutoPatcher was trying to set folder variables through filesystem. Where: mdlInitialization.Main() Error Code: 0x153: Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid Open a Run command and enter"regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx" without the quotes. This will fix the problem. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/557773-ap-vista-problem-on-running/#findComment-588564097 Share on other sites
