Here's the Terran tech tree. The Command Centre can turn into a Planetary Fortress or a full fledged Surveillance Station. Also, SCVs can build a gigantic unit called Thor. It's slow at turning but extremely powerful. There's more -- the Starport can now turn into a Starbase which is basically a mobile mega Starport. It's noticeably larger than a Battlecruiser. Yikes, it's been awhile since anyone posted in this thread. Anyway the official site has been updated. The Carrier and Observer are back. The Terran's get a new unit called the Nomad. Also, there's a new feature on the website titled "THE STORY SO FAR... PART 1: STARCRAFT". Click here to read it. "PART 2: THE BROODWAR" will be coming soon.

Be sure to check out the BlizzCon07 Walkthrough videos at Gametrailers.com.

I read the Terran section today... cool stuff indeed!

btw, is it worth playing the SP mode on SC? I usually find that stuff kinda boring though... only play it for the awesome movies that Blizzard make.

In my opinion, I think it's worth it. Then again I beat the single player campaign back in 2001. The game may seem boring but if you give it a chance, it could become quite an amazing experience. I warn you, you'll need the patience of a Tibetan monk in some levels.

First Look at StarCraft II Zerg

This new StarCraft II trailer that just debuted in Korea gives a first look at the Zerg alien race. Great looking trailer! Just checked the news, and no, South Korea hasn't imploded. Yet.

The Zerg swarm is just... oh my god. :o

EDIT: Also, the Zerg page at StarCraft2.com has been updated. Click here to see it. From what I can tell, they've added the Hydralisk and Mutalisk.

That was sick!!

I can't wait to see the rest of the Zerg. :p and the game of course.

Starcraft was my favorite game back in the days. it was also the first game I played on a PC that showed nice graphics (I had only played Duke Nukem 3D). I always wondered what's taking so long for a sequel. oh my, I can't wait to play this gem!

Sounds interesting but I think I'll skip this one though. The first one was quite fun but what killed it for me was I found it too hard (yeah I know, I suck :p) even on easy I'd die without fail in the first 5 mins of the game (the endless rushes is what did it) and on the extremely rare occasion I'd survive that, I'd eventually get wiped out by an ever bigger rush  One can only take so much defeat, before one gives up. I suspect StarCraft 2 will be more of the same with prettier graphics :/ great game but unless your really good at it, it causes endless frustration :p

    • I can name 10x that on why not to switch.... It's funny outlook/office are going towards web app wrappers, and then MS is now preaching native apps again.... ugh can we just pick a lane and stay in it
    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
