Free Steam Games For ATI Radeon Owners

Valve has announced that effective immediately, ATI Radeon owners can download a free copy of Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch through Steam. The software will automatically confirm the presence of ATI Radeon hardware and offer access to the two games.

In related news, Steam will be included with the ATI Catalyst driver and software suit until early 2008 and ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT owners will, upon release, receive Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half-Life 2: Episode Two through Valve's content delivery application.

Although, a free copy of Deathmatch is a good deal, that's payware now i think (i got it free with HL2, but they started charging afterwards or something)

I hope there is an option to not include that in the download like yahoo/google toolbars in software downloads

edit: Im new to steam (i may buy HL2 now) but when this offer is over will I still be able to downloads the games? Does steam work like Windows Market Place where the purchases (and keys) are saved so i can download them again?

I confirm, got Lost Coast with my Radeon x1900XTX (DM was already owned in the Source Multiplayer though).

Lost Cost is free, everybody gets it for free. (hence the :rolleyes: in my first post)

Edit: well, HL2 owners get it for free, so maybe some people who haven't been able to get it can now

Half LIfe Deathmatch is what I'm excited about. Free MP, though I can't seem to get this to work, I am missing something here. I do have a Radeon x1900xt, I assume that should work with this.

if you don't have a ati radeon gfx card, you can emulate one with 3D-Analyze

I have all the HL games and my desktops a Radeon so I just set my bro up with an account on my pc and let him get the free games. heh.
