Recommended Posts

Is there anyway to find the ip addresses of connected network devices such as gateways/routers/modems without turning then off and doing a manual reset?

Because iv forgotten my ip addresses for everything :(

ipconfig /all will show you all the IP info about your machine.. the IP listed for the gateway will be your router.

do a google search for nmap that should get you what you want, there are several other network scanning utilities as well.

if you want to know the IP of your router try

pathping google.com

or tracert google.com

This is worse than chinese whispers. The OP wanted to know the IPs of devices connected to his router, which has nothing o do with traceroute :p

There's usually a 'status' page you'll be able to access through your router's web interface which will show you the IPs and MAC addresses of connected devices.

I like the program Switchsniffer... does the trick superb even if they have a firewall active that hides the ip.

But... its not free for use
