4. I have been considering to give 4 Townspeople the knowledge of the other three also being Townspeople. This ensures a decent amount of communication between regular members. However this raises a strong aspect of the game that could be of great influence to the progression. Decision will be made before the game begins.

I thought there was 14 townspeople? and if you tell all 14 who they are, there's only 6 people left to vote between.

(btw UTC = GMT)

3 spots are left to be filled.

Are the times gonna be the same as the previous game? e.g 07:00 in neowin time is 13:00 cst, 19:00utc, 20:00 bst bla bla bla

I have switched the hours a bit, 12 hour cycles, this leaves more regular hours and actually better times for me to moderate (but I think my class and the hours clash a little). Check the end of the first post.

Actually I will only inform 4 Townspeople, this leaves the rest (10) in the dark. Hopefully those 4 can communicate with confidence who should target next, and balance the informants (4 Mafia/4Townspeople).

The game has begun. Randomly selected members have been notified with their roles, otherwise you are a Townspeople. The first event will be the Morning News at 16:00 UTC where the Mafia could very well kill off the first victim. For more information and updates please refer back to the first post. Good luck, stay safe and have fun!

As requested, the hours for Morning News in PST is 08:00 and Evening News at 20:00.

Initial game statistics

Mafia Members/total population: 20%

Members notified of their roles: 50%

Hence members in the dark: 50%

Otherwise, I'm just going to take a less formal role as you guys fight it out bahahah vote away! btw communication is key in this game... FYI

For added fun, The alliance has began.

The idea is:

When the "alliance" is settled, those 4 or 5 or 6 people will PM each other what position they hold in the game (This is assuming that the Townspeople/doctor/sheriff are on the same team).

Then based on the majority of what position they hold in the game (Say 3 of the 4 people are townspeople) They will PM each other speculations on who is who and vote in agreement based on what person they want to have eliminated. Part of the agreement of the alliance is that the majority will not vote to eliminate the minority until a later stage in the game (This can be defined more if people decide to join up. Maybe a specific round can be declared "open season" allowing the remaining alliance members to vote each other out).

The minority has the option of working with the members of his position (mafia/towns person/doc/sheriff) to eliminate non-alliance members (In safe haven from the majority) up until the point when "open season" is defined (Then alliance members are open to be eliminated within the alliance).

If it turns out to be a split of 2/2 or 3/3 (Two mafia, Two townspeople if there are 4 alliance members) Then each duo will work with each other to define the outcome as much as possible.

If the alliance is severed:

If a member is clearly eliminated by another member of the alliance before the "open season" round (By clearly I mean, If the minority member remains and systematically the majority seems to be dieing off round after round or vise versa), Then the member will be permanently removed from any future alliances, and or possibly removed by the remaining members next round.

The idea of the alliance is the idea of the game itself, To win (Cheating within the alliance is pointless).

PM me your details to be included into the "alliance".

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
