Day 2 Morning News

I report this morning the murder of Manish. Another day, another innocent bystander.

Please submit your votes for whom to be killed next, in the next 12 hours. Remember, everyone gets a vote.

-------------------

Indeed the problem is having everyone in different timezones, and another problem is not having everyone at presence so you can't scout whos who by looks and actions. I agree this game is slow progress, but actually I could suggest everyone presense at one time, and have votes instantly (3 minute cycles). The game could very well be over in half an hour.

I don't know how I could strictly enforce the 2 consecutive vote elimination rule, half of the people did not vote last cycle... including those who should be the most active (Mafias/Informed Townspeople).

nah theyre going up the memberlist starting with the bottom, working their way up

look at it so far

EchoNoise, player 20, eliminated first

Shof, player 19, eliminated second

Manish, player 18, eliminated third

unless im missing sundayx rearrange them to be in that order after being killed.....

you are reading it wrong. On sundayx list, there is a number next to the user name.

tut damn. i was one of the people that voted for Shof. (yay me) i think these people are also mafia btw: addc182, mikebiacsi and aubaine? not sure obv its early on in the game. also if your the sheriff PM me. lol.

btw i think only players that vote consistently should be allowed to play in future games (as well as new players obviously). the active players from this round should have priority places in the next game over any other players. new players should have priority over previous players who have missed 3 or more consecutive votes.

perhaps when we do have more than 20 active members who vote consistently, we could increase the no. of players and have additional roles (i.e. more mafia, a godfather - mafia leader, more townspeople, deputy, nurse, etc etc).

got you scared though didnt i :p

well not you shof

you're already dead

*casts vote*

:shifty:

additional roles (i.e. more mafia, a godfather - mafia leader, more townspeople, deputy, nurse, etc etc).

that sounds good to me for next game

it gives more of a chance for people to have "power roles"

Hey now, the dead can't accuse! Especially since you would have seen your murder(s)!

I'm not Mafia though. Ok, ok, yes I am. Lol, no seriously, I'm not. ....Ok, I admit it, I am. No, no, I'm just joking, I'm not. *Shakes head*. *Nods head*

Anyone watch Eddie Izzard?

Btw, I did see someone in a black suit and sunglasses leaving the scene of the crime... Any guesses as to who it is? I'll give you a hint - he dropped a business card that read "Association of ex-Neowin Mafia Mods"

LOL

and

wtf is the point of a business card that doesnt have a name on it?

ridiculous

but very tricky clue to follow

ill put 100% of my brain power to working out who it was

:p

what were you doing at the crime scene anyway aubaine?

killing more Manish?

and then planting evidence?

or are you the sheriff?

i think aubaine is right. think about it, what better way to reward a former mod than give him a mafia role? it is after all the funnest of all roles.

we know after all that shof turned out to be mafia, and probably he was rewarded with that role for havng had a hard time in the previous game, given as well how keen he was to play

are things in life really random ? or is there a pattern ?

I think you could be right about Lt-DavidW, however Zombie is still keeping very quiet like she's trying to remain annonymous. And I'm still not sure about mikebiacsi. Then again all 3 of those guesses could be wrong, in fact I could be part of the mafia... :ninja:

*Casts vote too* :shifty:

Not that it isn't appreciated, but it's the rules that you can't help others in the game once you are dead - the dead cannot speak.

Please hold off talking about the next game until this one is at least half done. It spoiled the ending of the first game.

The rules clearly state that positions are randomly chosen. If I am voted off everybody will kick themselves, enough said.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
