Day 4 Morning News

Unfortunately the Sheriff have not reported for duty for the past 2 days, but luckily so hasn't the Mafia. I will leave one more towns vote session today and see how the situation goes. Until then please try to hang in there.

Sry but the fact that you havn't been active for ages leads me to believe you are the last mafia. Addc182 has been very active these past few days.

Lol i didn't accuse you, did i?  Well, good on ya for pulling off the bluff. Although why anyone would want them to think they are a mafia member is beyond me...

no mikebiacsi,i was referring to someone else

looks like addc182 is starting to become a little defensive...

Sry you misunderstand me, i was talking about addc. You see before i became convinced that your the final mafia, i may have on one occasion possibly suggested that addc might have something to do with the mafia. Maybe.

Wow, i feel really sorry for astrozombie. Not a nice thing for anyone to go through. In other news, addc182 your soooo going down! :p
oooo scary.now i cant decide who to kill, you or rEiVeRjOhN

:shifty:

Oh noes! Teh mafiaz iz cumin to kil me! Well you can silence one of us, but you can't defeat us all. :)
ha you say that, but its not as hard as it sounds really. im not ready to admit defeat yet :p *casts vote*

:shifty: guess who

rEiVeRjOhN, who says you will be alive long enough to find out? :p

TrickFinlay2 missed his opportunity to kill one of us townies today. its now our turn to vote someone off. if people vote him off, theyll see he is mafia. if i am wrong about that, ill drop out.

Pretty much the votes are in, suggesting that I *might* have completely destroyed the game... (So sorry, partially my bad)

---------------

If you guys are still hyped though, I *could* start a quick game with all of this game's members, for 6 hour cycles, a quarter strategically selected as being the Mafia, a quarter being informed "alliance" Townspeople, one Doctor and no Sheriff. Sounds good? Reply in the next 6 hours and we can begin tonight.

"For some who have bad schedules (Work, school etc.) I propose that you will be included in this quick game, unless you state otherwise, and people can vote prior to sessions (Up to 2/3 votes at a time)."

Those who are dead, how about, you can join for "Vengeance".

In this case, let Neowin Mafia 2 Quick Vengeance begin!

----------------

Sorry again! I will try to be a better and more neutral/mute mod this time...

don't worry about what you said

it was more sherlock rEiVeRjOhN

because nobody else would have noticed i bet you :p

but yeh im up for Mafia 2 Vengeance (like the name too) lol

i like the voting prior scheme, i think this could be implemented into the full games quite effectively as TrickFinlay2 was complaining about job and time zone differences

i dont see any point in starting over until at least the next news update

and the only reason we know who it is is the fact that we know who the sheriff actually is, so its not entirely your fault sundayx, dont beat yourself up :p

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
