J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield Questions

Recommended Posts

The name 'Cloverfield' to me just immediately makes me think it's a special government experiment gone wrong ....

you know ... 'Cloverfield' just sounds like a codename for something.

So I think this is a monster that comes from an experiment ... designed by the military to be a weapon of mass destruction, and it goes wrong, mutates crazy big and destroys everything.

That's my take on it.

:)

That would be a good take on it, I think its something like especially as originally it was called Project Cloverfield so it signifies it was a project that the military were probably monitoring.

Looks cool but wtf is this movie about already? Chances are it's going to be just all hype.

No doubt the biggest hype letdown for me was War of the Worlds. From the teaser trailer, it look as if it was going to be the biggest movie yet. Especially from Spielberg.

I have a feeling this is going to be the same hype.

The clues indicate that a corporation will release the creature from the center of the earth as a result of deep sea drilling. That is what seems most likely to me.

What were you expecting exactly?

Sadly it wasn't a disappointment because I feel that Spielberg hasn't done anything all that big in the last 20 years (his only two movies I've liked were Schlinder's List and Saving Private Ryan). Spielberg is highly overrated IMO.

Jurassic Park?

I made the mistake of reading the novel first. The movie sucks compared to the novel. Spielberg dumbed it down for the kiddies which IMO made it suck. I hate it!

Why compare it? Jurassic Park is a hour and a half movie. It's not dumbed down. It's just compressed. It's a brilliant movie and a stand out film that will last for generations.

It was completely changed from the novel, from the opening scene to how it ends, there's very little that's the same.

So? Does that matter? It's a film ... not a book :) It still rocked. Just coz it wasn't the same as the book ... that's a bad reason to say the film sucked! :)

I agree.. They always dumb them down or take out important stuff that would make the movie make more sense if they left it in. There are very few movie based on books that turn out that well. Jurassic Park I was disappointed in. They turned a good book and cut it up into 3 movies when they should have left it as one and made it a little longer.

You should never compare a book to a film. They are usually very different because you can usually do a lot more in a book than in a movie. However, different doesn't mean worse. I am sure there are just as many people that prefer the movie version over the book(not referring to JP, but to all book/movie versions). It all comes down to personal taste.

    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.

LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. • hahahahah wow hahahah you sure got me there hahahahahah, you know that bad performance is always due to poor optimization by the developers, right???
    • "I know for a fact I'll never own one of these." This is why choice is better than government regulation. Globaly Android has something like 72% of the smartphone market. Granted the vast majority of that is low end phones. Apple can and should charge whatever they want. The market will decide if it is too much.
