J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield Questions

Recommended Posts

It is probably more like a virus that attacks the person's cells and replaces DNA with some other version and that causes a rapid cellular mutation.

WOOHOO! 100th post baby. Only 16,114 more to go until i beat Rappy.

Yes you have some way to go :shifty:

Yeah I think a whole city of Cloverfields, wow that would be awesome, just thinking really Clover is 4 leafs so maybe 4 heads? haha...

I didn't really mean it is a remake, I'm just saying that's what it looks like to me. Similar anyway. I'll probably still see the film, but I'm no where near as excited about this as what some of you seem to be.

You don't get excited about much do ya ? ;)

And something I never noticed!

Can see it down the street!

I posted about the Mutation already Rappeh. ;).

But that Snake is pretty cool. SNAKES IN NEW YORK!. Sequel to Snakes on a Plane!. LOL

ive just read through the entire thread and wow, this film looks awesome

i feel its about "Cthulhu", from what i can gather, its obviously massive and it seems like its came from the water,

theres various things from all sources that are stuck in my mind and these are various ideas:

-the artist impression a few pages back with scales of mini monsters

-on images a girls arm has been scratched by a mini monster

-Slusho, on the website it has a range of ingredients (on the flipside of the picture) and includes something from the ocean

-something from the ocean is being put in food/slusho and making people mutuate or spread the virus

-this monster is part of it, as if the food/Slusho is actually like something from the monster

although i like the idea of the 3 monsters, behemoth, leviathen and the other one, as the poster looks like something from space has gone through the statue of liberty (looks like a cometish) and the buildings (is kinda like semi circle damage on each side) and crashed into it, yet also theres the water trails

i still think though it has something to do with Cthulhu,Slusho poisoning from the sea, and miniture monsters.

is the release date worldwide or us only?

    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
