J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield Questions

Recommended Posts

It's the name of the project. When the video starts it says "Gov. Property" blah blah blah "Tape of "Cloverfield Project". Plus, the Bad Robot studios are located on a street called Cloverfield. They named it so and then later during production called it Clovo(not sure of this one), Cheese and even Slusho but everyone kept getting the informations so they went back to the first name of the movie: Cloverfield.

Do JJ fans play everything backwards to find any clues possible?

I didn't, I didn't even stay after the credits. But, then again, I'm not a JJ Abrams fan, what constitutes a fan anyways? I didn't watch the movie cuz JJ Abrams produced it, I saw it cuz I liked the idea and the base of the movie. Definately would love a Clovo 2.

More infos, the official internet name of the monster is now Clovie. Cheers.

And also, for the people who saw this because they are fans of JJ Abrams... Hmmmm... he only produced it. Didn't direct it or anything. Just produced it.

and should have spoilers tags. i havent seen it yet but now im guessing that they died at the end. Wahey go you!

Theres always one, its like people who stood in line at Star Wars with the ending on their t-shirt.

Hasbro, Inc. brings to market the figure of one of the most tightly held secrets in recent Hollywood history: the “Cloverfield” Monster. Following the 1-18-08 theatrical release of Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot’s “Cloverfield,” fans will be able to order a highly detailed representation of the beast beginning today exclusively on HasbroToyShop.com.

Standing at an imposing 14 inches tall, the creature that wreaks havoc on New York City in the film is immortalized as a super-articulated figure for fans and collectors alike. As with other beasts in the annals of great movie monsters, the creature in "Cloverfield" captures the imagination and tugs at the fears of thrill seeking moviegoers.

The party may be over when this beast comes to town, but the fright inducing look of the creature lives on from the creepy people-sucking underbelly to the swath of parasites the beast lets loose to hunt citizens of the 'Big Apple.' The figure also comes with two interchangeable heads, each depicting one of the Monster’s moods: calm or agitated. The head of the Statue of Liberty, the iconic image which made the film’s much buzzed about and analyzed trailer so eerie and intriguing, is also included.

"Hasbro is very excited to be working with Paramount and Bad Robot to bring to market a piece of the film for fans and collectors," said Brian Goldner, COO of Hasbro, Inc. "The fan buzz on this film has been terrific and we are happy to take part in the excitement."

The "Cloverfield" Monster from Hasbro is available now for pre-sale at HasbroToyShop.com for an approximate retail price of $99.99.

Awesome :D

If somebody hated the style in Blair Witch Project, would they like the movie?

Why?

The thing is, Cloverfield is filmed with a Handycam but it's still in HD and the sound effects are amazing so is the CGI. It's still possible to not like it, if you hated Blair Witch Project though.

You ordered it then I take it? :p

I lol'd at the fact they didn't show a preview of the model.

I pre-ordered to go ahead and get it in so I don't have to wait, but will cancel my order if I decide once I get to see it that I don't like it.

It says it doesn't ship until September!! WTH

Yeah maybe they are trying to cover their bases with the actual design, like after the film is out everywhere and the dvd has been out a while.

You think the DVD will be out by then? A lot of these blockbusters wait FOREVER to get the DVD out.

Yeah maybe they are trying to cover their bases with the actual design, like after the film is out everywhere and the dvd has been out a while.

I'll have finally seen it by then when it's out on DVD for my $1 Redbox rental :D

Over here in the UK its 4 months now I think then the dvd is released so by that calculation its out Feb here, so DVD hitting stores around June/July maybe May where you are.

It made me goddamn nauseas, all that wobbling of the camera. I almost threw up...and don't get me started about the ending. There is absolutely NO closure.

Nevertheless, the movie was very intense and doesn't get any more immersive than this.

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).
