J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield Questions

If you have noticed, the head of the Statue of Liberty is small in the movie. This is definetly a big mistake that they have done in the movie. In the movie, the head of the Statue of Liberty is as big as 2 big cars. That's ridiculous.. the real thing is so large and like 10 times bigger than that in the movie. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong.

The head is 17 feet in height, 10 feet wide.

Thanks for the info you posted, but if you look at this picture for example:

this looks bigger than that in the movie... look at the people inside the head there... there is big space i guess.

That's so photoshopped. See that one pixel? Yeah, it's 'shopped.

That isn't photoshopped. That is a real picture with Former First Lady Nancy Reagan. It is posted in the information center at Liberty Island. I remember seeing it there when I went up in the Statue myself.

I think it might be right, maybe a little off in size, but not by much. What gets me is the coloring is completely wrong. I know it is dark outside, but the head shouldn't be that dark.

C'mon, you didn't pick up on the sarcasm? It's a reference to an image about people being photoshop experts... nevermind, you ruined it :(

Sorry :(

just think if you gooutside around 3am in the morning.. yeah it would be that dark. Think if your car is parked outside, the effect is the same.

You'd still be able to see the color of the car. The Statue is a very light green to begin with, not a dark green, so even a light color car you'd still be able to see the color better than that image.

Oh, and by the way, regarding the ending:

In the end there is no cigar shaped "thing" falling into the ocean, nothing like that is seen. The only thing seen is the waves in the ocean, but no object is seen falling. So in conclusion, that could be anything.

Although yet to be confirmed, an image appeared online today of what appears to be the DVD cover art for Paramount Pictures' Cloverfield, which I cannot wait to get on Blu-ray (if the extras aren't scrapped). Read on for a look and watch for an official announcement soon. Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

What was that then? Because their CLEARLY is something there.

One thing I thought was funny, was that no one thought to call the damn thing "Godzilla." Surely in real life, would have been like, "WTF its like a F'n Godzilla!" I found it annoying that they all avoided talking about the fact that everyone saw a huge monster, and kept asking "wth was that?"It was a F'n Monster!!! sheesh.. It was like there was an elephant in the room, quite literally almost....

I think in real life people would be to emotional to give a damn what it really is. They just want to get the hell away from it as quickly as possible without getting killed. I know I wouldn't care what it was called in those characters' situation.

My first thought would be to run away rather then talking about what he looks like :p

Paramount Home Entertainment has officially announced Cloverfield (review) on DVD, which stars Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas and TJ Miller. DVD Active reports that the Matt Reeves directed monster flick will be available to own on April 22, and should retail at around $27.95. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include a commentary by Director Matt Reeves, 4 featurettes (The Making of Cloverfield, Cloverfield Visual Effects, I Saw It! It's Alive! It's Huge, and Clover Fun), 6 additional scenes (Congrats Rob, When You're in Japan, I Call That a Date, It's Going to Hurt, Alt Ending #1, Alt Ending #2), and multiple eastereggs. There's no word on a Blu-ray release at this time, and we're told NOT to expect one right yet. BOO!

Bit Bigger Cover Plus Some More Specs!

A few weeks back a very small image appeared online with what was said to be the DVD cover art for Paramount Home Video's release of Cloverfield, the highly successful giant monster movie from January. Today it was confirmed as legit with two new images surfacing inside. The Matt Reeves directed monster flick will be available to own on April 22, and should retail at around $27.95. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. • Remarkably based article from Garter - apparently there IS someone working there that actually understands mainframe systems.
    • Calling it TDS doesn’t answer the question: why did this site skip prior UFC games but review this one, at this exact political moment?
    • Its the timing of its release, mixed with the timing of the review mixed with the timing of the event, when this site never reviewed previous iterations of this game that I could find.
    • Instagram just got "a long-requested feature" by Hamid Ganji Instagram has finally added a new feature that has been "long-requested" and it allows users to write an individual caption for each image or video in a carousel. The feature will start rolling out this week, and it’ll be available to all users. Previously, Instagram only allowed a single caption for all regular posts and carousels. This made it harder for content creators to describe every scene in a carousel and often forced them to write longer captions. However, with this new feature, every slide in a carousel can have its own caption, which can be viewed by swiping left or right. To use the feature, when writing a caption for your post, select “Multiple captions” from the dropdown menu in the caption area. You can then write unique captions for each slide. By swiping through the carousel and selecting individual slides, a dedicated space for writing captions will appear. Instagram says the feature will help audiences get the right context at the right moment. The ability to assign a unique caption to each slide in a carousel could be particularly useful for content creators and brands on the platform. Instagram says the feature will begin rolling out this week. The new feature appears to have been well received by Instagram users, many of whom have been requesting it for a long time. However, users are now asking for additional features, such as the ability to add new slides to a carousel after it has been published. Instagram has been introducing several useful features lately, but users who want access to additional tools and perks can subscribe to the platform’s Instagram Plus offering. Priced at $3.99 per month, Instagram Plus includes exclusive features such as 48-hour Stories, more detailed post analytics, and the ability to tailor posts or Stories to specific audiences. The subscription includes 11 new features in total.
