Hi :)

Desktop is here for now:

http://www.alazanto.org/wrvisuals/screenshots/sgstriped.jpg

Running Feisty with Compiz Fusion and Avant Window Navigator. The fonts have been tweaked with the sub-pixel rendering update in freetype.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=343670

Theme is Fawn (tweaked menu bar) and Reuben with the buuf icons and several png dock icons from deviantart.

My modification of Fawn is attached...this version is identical to the publicly available one, but the menus have a brown background. This will not look right without the gtk mac menu hack.

Also employing the mac menu hack. In firefox I installed the hide menu bar add-on to keep things somewhat consistent.

I would kill to have these desktops! I have been trying for about 3 days if not more like 5 hours or more each day trying to get this stupid Compiz crap to work. I feel like I have tried everything and I am probably going to have to wait for Gusty Gibbon

Hm now I'm in a pickle :p I wish to remove it, got any link how to? Or maybe could write a quick one?

Uninstall: just install the original gtk package back, or use the environment variable GTK_MENUBAR_NO_MAC=1 to temporarily disable it.

Font: Just Bitstream Vera Sans. It's a very nice font when rendered a bit truer to its form.

Making Compiz work: I ended up following this tutorial. http://kevin.vanzonneveld.net/techblog/art..._ubuntu_feisty/

I'm not sure if I could be of much help to you, but the main hiccup I ran into was in not having the latest nvidia driver. Envy did a nice job in taking care of that part. Beyond that, I am assuming you've posted on the ubuntu forums...

    • Marshall Major V Bluetooth headphones are now up to 47% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The Marshall Major V in Midnight Blue is currently $89.99 on Amazon, down from $169.99. That's 47% off and $80 saved on a pair of wireless on-ear headphones from one of the most recognizable names in audio. The Major V is Marshall's take on a long-lasting everyday headphone. The headphones deliver 100+ hours of wireless playtime, which puts them in a completely different category from most Bluetooth headphones that hover around 30-40 hours. You’re charging this thing once a week at most, and with wireless charging supported, you don’t have to worry about additional cables. Marshall promises its signature sound profile, with strong bass, smooth mids, and clear highs. There’s a customizable M-button, which you can set to quickly access Spotify Tap, your EQ settings, or a voice assistant. The design is foldable and lightweight at 186 grams, so it’s easy to pack for travel. And finally, the faux leather finish gives the Major V a sleek, premium look. At $89.99, the Major V Midnight Blue is a genuinely strong buy for anyone who wants a reliable daily headphone without paying premium prices. It’s also worth mentioning that the Cream and Brown variants are also discounted to $89.99, though from a lower original price of $99.99. • +1 on XVI. I still use it.
